Chemical constituents of the leaves of Menispermum dauricum

Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 2013
Menispermum dauricum is widely distributed in the Peoples Republic of China. The rhizomes of the plant, known in traditional Chinese medicine as Bei-Dou-Gen, are officially listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and used for treating sore throat, colitis, dysentery, and rheumatic arthralgia [1].

Dauricine production in cultured roots of Menispermum dauricum

Phytochemistry, 1994
Abstract Root Cultures of Menispermum dauricum were established from adventitious roots formed on the leaf segments. These roots produce dauricine as a major constituent and the optimum conditions for dauricine production in cultured roots were investigated.

Chlorinated Alkaloids in Menispermum dauricum DC. Root Culture

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2001
Feeding experiments using (36)Cl showed that Menispermum dauricum root culture produces four alkaloids containing chlorine. They included the novel alkaloids dauricumine and dauricumidine as well as the known alkaloids acutumine and acutumidine. The structures of novel alkaloids were established by spectroscopic, crystallographic, and chemical methods.

A New 1,4-Phenanthraquinone fromMenispermum Dauricum

Natural Product Research, 2004
A new 1,4-phenanthraquinone was isolated from the roots of Menispermum dauricum. The structure was elucidated as 7-hydroxy-3,6-dimethoxy-1,4-phenanthraquinone on the basis of spectral evidence.

Menispermum dauricum DC.

1992
Beiduogen, Rhizoma Menispermi, is the dry rootstock of Menispermum dauricum DC. (Menispermaceae), which occurs widely in China. It is a traditional Chinese medicine and is now officially listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Beiduogen Pian, Tabellae Menispermi, is another official item produced from the total alkaloidal extract of M. dauricum.

Characterization and antitumor activities of a polysaccharide from the rhizoma of Menispermum dauricum

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2013
The rhizome of Menispermum dauricum DC (Menispermaceae) is one of the most commonly used traditional Chinese medicines officially listed in Chinese Pharmacopeia. In present study, we purified a water-soluble polysaccharide (WMDP) from this plant and investigated its physicochemical properties.

Early Steps of Dauricine Biosynthesis in Cultured Roots ofMenispermum dauricum

Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 1996
Cultured roots of Menispermum dauricum, a rich source of the bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid dauricine (1), were fed with l-[U-(14)C] tyrosine, L-[3-(13)C] tyrosine, and [2-(13)C] tvramine independently, and the incorporation of possible early precursors into 1 was studied.

Isoquinoline alkaloid dimers with dopamine D1 receptor activities from Menispermum dauricum DC

Phytochemistry, 2022
A phytochemical investigation on chemical constituents from the rhizomes of Menispermum dauricum DC. identified eight undescribed dimeric alkaloids with structurally diverse monomeric isoquinoline. Alkaloid structures were elucidated by a combination of spectroscopic data analyses and time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) ECD calculation ...

Genetic and alkaloid analysis of Menispermum Dauricum DC. by RAPD and HPLC

Phytochemical Analysis, 2007
AbstractThe aim of the present work was to determine whether dauricine could be used as a taxonomic marker for Menispermum dauricum DC., and to explore the correlation among RAPD, ecological markers and chemical markers. To this end, the chemical and genetic differences of 173 individual samples of M.

(+)-Strigol, a witchweed seed germination stimulant, from Menispermum dauricum root culture

Phytochemistry, 2003
(+)-Strigol was isolated from Menispermum dauricum root culture filtrate. Its identity was confirmed by HPLC, 1H NMR, UV and MS, and on the basis of its CD spectrum. This is the first report on isolation of strigolactone from aseptic plant culture.
