Chiral perrocenylalkylamines from (-)-menthone

Tetrahedron, 1986
Abstract Three enantiomerically pure ∝-ferrocenylalkylamines are directly obtained from (-)-menthone. The isomerizations of the ∝-ferrocenylalkyl carbocation intermediates are studied and exploited in stereoselective syntheses. These carbocations are the basis of the configurational assignment of the amines.

Effect of cyclodextrin complexation on the reduction of menthone and isomenthone

Journal of Inclusion Phenomena, 1987
The β- and γ-cyclodextrin complexation of menthone and isomenthone was found to modify the ratio of epimeric menthol products formed upon a NaBH4/MeOH reduction of these ketones.

Stereoselectivity of electroreduction of a menthone-isomenthone mixture

Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry, 2009
Electroreduction of an equilibrium menthone-isomenthone mixture at a controlled potential in a diaphragm cell on various cathodes was studied. The influence exerted by the nature of a solvent and of an electrode, electrode material, and various additives on the reduction stereoselectivity of ketones was examined.
