A Review on the Resilient Response of Unsaturated Subgrade Soils
Considering the great contribution of subgrade modulus to the overall performance of roads or railways, it is crucial to provide the best prediction of resilient modulus for their foundations. Incorporating the seasonal variation of moisture content, the resilient modulus variation of unsaturated soils will be accurately predicted.

A MECHANISTIC-EMPIRICAL IMPACT ANALYSIS OF DIFFERENT TRUCK CONFIGURATIONS ON A JOINTED PLAIN CONCRETE PAVEMENT (JPCP) [PDF]
Until the last decade, the 1993 American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) design guide has been traditionally used for the design of flexible and rigid pavements in the USA and some parts of the world.

Influence of Unbound Materials Input Level on Pavement Performance using MEPDG [PDF]
For material characterization, the new Mechanistic Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) has 3 input levels. Level 1 input values must be obtained through direct laboratory testing. Level 2 inputs are determined by the application of correlations with other material properties. Finally, Level 3 inputs are simply typical default values.

Pavement performance prediction is a crucial issue in big data maintenance. This paper develops a hybrid grey relation analysis (GRA) and support vector machine regression (SVR) technique to predict pavement performance. The prediction model can solve the shortcomings of the traditional model including a single consideration factor, a short prediction ...

Prediction of Dynamic Modulus of Hot Mix Asphalts with Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement
This study evaluated the viscoelastic properties of a performance grade (PG) binder blended with different percentages of binders recovered from reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) for conditions (materials, climate, and specifications) prevailing in Oklahoma. The viscoelastic properties of the blended binders were then used to estimate dynamic modulus (E∗

Local calibration of MEPDG rutting model for Ontario’s Superpave pavements [PDF]
The rutting models in the AASHTO Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) have been calibrated to Ontario’s conditions for flexible pavements of Marshall mixes, and have yet to be calibrated for the Superpave materials. This study differs from previous studies in several counts: First, the local calibration database included both Superpave ...

The existing pavement performance prediction methods are limited to single‐factor predictions, which often face the challenges of high cost, low efficiency, and poor accuracy. It is difficult to simultaneously solve the temporal, spatial, and exogenous dependencies between pavement performance data and maintenance, the service life of highways, the ...

Comparison of LTPP-Bind V3.1 and MEPDG for the Selection of Binder Grades [PDF]
Binders for five analysis locations and two pavement designs were selected using the LTPPBind V3.1 software. The recommended binders were then refined to meet realistic constraints of pavement construction in West Virginia.
