Content Analysis of Responses From an INSAR Special Interest Group (SIG): Indigenous Perspectives on Autism

open access: yesAutism Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Autism remains understudied and under‐detected in Indigenous communities across the globe. This content analysis investigates key themes and future directions for Indigenous autism research, as discussed during a Special Interest Group at the 2025 International Society for Autism Research meeting in Seattle, United States.

A rare case of self-injection of elemental mercury [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BACKGROUND: Self-injection of elemental mercury is a rare finding especially in healthy people who are mentally sound. Early detection and removal of mercury from the body by chelation and physical removal of a stored injected site is required to prevent

Interfacial Ru–O–W Orbital Coupling Enables Lattice Oxygen Stabilization for Enhanced Acidic OER

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A RuO2/WO3 electrocatalyst with strong interfacial Ru–O–W bonds exhibits optimized Ru–O interactions, enhancing intrinsic activity and stability for acidic OER. The WO3 support modulates the electronic structure of RuO2 and promotes oxo‐intermediate deprotonation, delivering a low overpotential of 203 mV at 10 mA cm−2 and sustained operation beyond 200

In Situ Grown Bimetallic (Ni, Fe)12P5 Nanoneedles With Favorable Electronic Structures and Superwetting Surfaces for Highly Efficient and Durable Seawater Splitting at Industrial Current Density

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A three‐dimensional bimetallic (Ni, Fe)12P5 nanoneedle array anchored on metal foam with superwetting surfaces and modulated electronic structures is in situ fabricated via a facile one‐step phosphidation strategy (Fe–Ni12P5 NAs@NFF). This material demonstrates exceptional bifunctional activity and long‐term stability at the industrial‐scale current ...

Mercury poisoning in two 13-year-old twin sisters

open access: yesJournal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2015
Mercury (Hg) is a toxic agent that evaporates in room temperature and its inhalation may cause poisoning. Due to the nonspecific symptoms, diagnosis is difficult in special circumstances with no initial history of Hg exposure. We report two such cases of

Human exposure to mercury and its hematological effects: a systematic review

open access: yesCadernos de Saúde Pública, 2019
Mercury is a metal found in the environment from natural and anthropogenic sources. It is highly toxic to ecosystems and living beings. Most human exposures come from ingestion of contaminated seafood, outgassing from dental amalgam or occupational ...

Glutathione-Mediated Neuroprotection Against Methylmercury Neurotoxicity in Cortical Culture is Dependent on MRP1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Methylmercury (MeHg) exposure at high concentrations poses significant neurotoxic threat to humans worldwide. The present study investigated the mechanisms of glutathione-mediated attenuation of MeHg neurotoxicity in primary cortical culture. MeHg (5 μM)

Durene conversion in a methanol‐to‐jet process: Exploring conversion at 150–350°C over different acid catalysts

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Acid catalyzed conversion of durene by isomerization, disproportionation, and transalkylation is of interest to the development of a methanol‐to‐jet process to reduce the amount of durene in the kerosene. It was of interest to determine whether durene conversion could be performed at a temperature lower than 350°C.
