Cobalt‐Doped Diamond‐Like Carbon Coatings Combined With Functionalised Polymers for Enhanced Tribological Performance

open access: yesLubrication Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In recent years, doped diamond‐like carbon (DLC) coatings combined with functionalised copolymers have gained attention as a lubrication concept. While silicon‐doped DLC has been widely studied, polymer‐assisted lubrication on other doped DLC systems remains less explored.

Interactions among Merlin, Arkadia, and SKOR2 mediate NF2-associated human Schwann cell proliferation

open access: yesStem Cell Research & Therapy
Background NF2-related Schwannomatosis (previously referred to as Neurofibromatosis Type 2, or NF2) is a genetic-associated disease resulting from mutations in the gene, NF2. NF2 encodes the Merlin protein, which acts as a tumor suppressor.

Automated Photothermal Control of Block Copolymer Self‑Assembly and Metal Oxide Nanostructures Sintering

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
This study presents a microscope‐based photothermal platform that integrates structured laser light projection with machine‐learning‐optimized illumination. By employing neural‐network models to predict and generate thermal profiles, the platform achieves precise thermal processing of block copolymer films.

Hunting motivations, behaviour and forest access: Characterising wildlife hunting practices in a multi‐ethnic, forested landscape of Brunei Darussalam, Southeast Asia

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Unsustainable hunting practices can alter population dynamics, driving biodiversity declines, which leads to ‘empty forests’. Understanding hunting behaviour, including motivations for hunting and relationships with market drivers, and access to hunting grounds are important to develop affirmative policies to stem biodiversity loss.

Relativized Arthur-Merlin versus Merlin-Arthur games

open access: yesInformation and Computation, 1987
Arthur-Merlin games (introduced by L. Babai) give rise to two new complexity classes, AM and MA, depending on who starts the communication. One knows that MA \(\subset AM\). In the present paper the author constructs an oracle C such that \(MA^ C\neq AM^ C\). The proof is modelled upon \textit{Th. P. Baker} and \textit{A. L. Selman} [Theor. Comput. Sci.

A dramaturgy of uncertainty: Transdisciplinary manoeuvres across forestry and theatre

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract The uncertainties of climate change mean that forestry adaptation strategies are often complex and contested. Research has suggested that there is an interest in the forestry sector for facilitated dialogue about uncertainty (de Pellegrin Llorente et al., 2023).

Clinicopathological significance of loss of Y chromosome in male meningiomas

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract Male meningiomas, comprising approximately 30% of all meningiomas, are more frequently high‐grade and associated with poorer clinical outcomes compared to their female counterparts. Although Y chromosome alterations have been studied in various male‐predominant tumors, a limited number of studies have evaluated their role in meningiomas.

Concerns of Pastoral Ministry With a Biblical Perspective From the Gospel of Mark

open access: yes, 1982
The area of study for this paper was pastoral ministry. The research focused on three areas of concern: the recruitment of persons for pastoral ministry; the attrition of pastors from the parish ministry: and, the training of ministers

Activation of the melanocortin-1 receptor attenuates neuronal apoptosis after traumatic brain injury by upregulating Merlin expression

open access: yesBrain Research Bulletin
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a common disease worldwide with high mortality and disability rates. Besides the primary mechanical injury, the secondary injury associated with TBI can also induce numerous pathological changes, such as brain edema, nerve
