Immunosuppressive and remodelling properties of mesenchymal stem cells in a model of chronic kidney disease [PDF]
Objective: To investigate the role of mesenchymal stem cells in fibrogenesis using a model of chronic renal insufficiency. Methods: Mesenchymal stem cells were obtained from tibias and femurs of Wistar-EPM rats.

Novel mAbs could detect cancer‐associated membrane proteins on various type of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDAC) by flow cytometry with viable PDAC cells and by immunohistochemistry with PDAC tissues. Results of protein expression were substantiated by mRNA expression by The Cancer Genome Atlas.

Adipose-derived and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells: a donor-matched comparison
Adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) have been introduced as an alternative to bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) for cell-based therapy. However, different studies comparing ASCs and BMSCs have shown conflicting results.

Background Mesenchymal stem cells are multilineage non-hematopoietic progenitor cells that play a key role in supporting the lymphohematopoietic system. Their distribution in bone marrow and secondary lymphoid organs allows an intimate interaction with T-

The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Sources and Clinical Applications of Mesenchymal Stem Cells: State-of-the-art review.
First discovered by Friedenstein in 1976, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are adult stem cells found throughout the body that share a fixed set of characteristics.

Trafficking of Mesenchymal Stem Cells
In adult life mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) reside primarily in the bone marrow and are defined according to their ability to self-renew and differentiate into tissues of mesodermal origin. Due to their immuno-modulatory properties and ability to form cartilage and bone, MSCs have clinical potential, for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and tissue ...

Mesenchymal stem cells and their microenvironment
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are multipotent stem cells that hold promise for an expanding list of therapeutic uses, not only due to their ability to differentiate into all connective tissues including bone, fat and cartilage, but additionally due to their trophic and anti-inflammatory effects which contribute to healing and tissue regeneration ...

ICP34.5 is one of the most important antihost response proteins. The saRNA‐encoding HSV‐1 neurovirulence protein ICP34.5 clearly mediated the eukaryotic initiation factor 2 alpha subunit (eIF2α) dephosphorylation and significant suppression of innate immune responses in vitro, leading to enhanced expression of the saRNA‐encoded gene.

Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells Differentiate to a Cardiomyocyte Phenotype in the Adult Murine Heart
Background—Cellular cardiomyoplasty has been proposed as an alternative strategy for augmenting the function of diseased myocardium. We investigated the potential of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) from adult bone marrow to undergo myogenic ...
