A performance modeling technique for mesh-connected multicomputers

Proceedings 1997 International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 2002
Modeling the perfomance of space-shared multicomputers is a non-trivial task mainly due to difficulty in modeling the effect of external fragmentation on system performance. Mesh-connected multicomputers are hard to model in particular because of great variance in job sizes.

Performance evaluation of hypermeshes and meshes with wormhole routing

Journal of Systems Architecture, 1997
Abstract The hypercube, which vas widely used in early multicomputers, has fallen out of favour to be replaced by the 2-dimensional mesh or torus in recent multicomputers. This move was mainly influenced by Daily's study that has shown that for an equal implementation cost in VLSI the low-dimensional high-diameter mesh or torus has superior ...

Performance Analysis of the Multichannel Wireless Mesh Networks

2012
This paper identifies a problem in spreading the trials of channel re-assignment toward neighbors due to the channel interference in a wireless mesh network (WMN), and then newly defines an analytical model that can evaluate the identified problem that does affect the performance in WMNs.

Communication Performance of Mesh- and Ring-Based NoCs

Seventh International Conference on Networking (icn 2008), 2008
As multi-core systems begin to appear, their possible applications, parallel performance and on-chip interconnection networks have to be clarified, analyzed and optimized. The paper investigates an impact of collective communication (CC) overhead that may be critical for performance of parallel applications. Two potential topologies of networks on chip

Design principle and meshing performance analysis of asymmetric internal meshing gears with meshing line modification

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science
The asymmetric internal meshing gear with meshing line modification is designed in this article. Compared with symmetrical gears, asymmetric gears have better meshing performance. The core of the design principle of asymmetric gears tooth profiles: different meshing lines are designed for the left and right tooth profiles ...
