A performance analysis of toroidal mesh networks
Microprocessing and Microprogramming, 1990Abstract A performance analysis model for regular multicomputer networks is developed which covers both single- or multiple-message accepting PE models and buffered or unbuffered communication switches. The performance of a four-neighbour mesh with ‘wrapped-around’ boundaries as found in most transputer nets is evaluated in terms of the overall ...

Performance Modelling and Analysis of Cognitive Mesh Networks
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2012A new analytical model is proposed to investigate the delay and throughput in cognitive mesh networks. The validity of the model is demonstrated via extensive simulation experiments. The model is then used to evaluate the effects of the number of licensed channels and channel utilisation on the network performance.

Performance Analysis of IEEE802.11 Wireless Mesh Networks
2008 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2008The wireless mesh network is emerging as a promising technology in providing economical and scalable broadband Internet accesses to communities. The backbone of the wireless mesh network consists of mesh routers, which connect each other in an ad hoc manner via wireless links.

Analysis of Routing Protocol Performance in Wireless Mesh Networks
2010 International Conference on Computational Science and Its Applications, 2010The objective of the paper is to evaluate and compare proactive and reactive routing protocols designed for ad hoc networks and adapted to Wireless Mesh Networks. The analysis of protocol performance is based on the results of multistage simulations made for UDP traffic and TCP traffic, moreover, for both - a normal working network and the network with

Analysis of IEEE 802.16 Mesh Mode Scheduler Performance
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2007The IEEE 802.16 protocol for wireless broadband access (wirelessMAN) has been standardized recently. In order to improve network coverage and scalability, mesh mode is supported in 802.16. In the mesh mode, all nodes are organized in an ad hoc fashion and use a pseudo-random function to compete for their transmission opportunities based on the ...

A competent performance analysis of king mesh topology
2017 IEEE International Conference on Electrical, Instrumentation and Communication Engineering (ICEICE), 2017In Network on Chip (NoC), the number of cores get increases gradually in the past few decades. This affect the performance of the mesh and this leads to evolution of new topological concept. The king topology provides the high grade evolution of the humanistic mesh and torus topologies.

Performance Analysis of the Multichannel Wireless Mesh Networks
2012This paper identifies a problem in spreading the trials of channel re-assignment toward neighbors due to the channel interference in a wireless mesh network (WMN), and then newly defines an analytical model that can evaluate the identified problem that does affect the performance in WMNs.

Performance Analysis of Wavelength Division Multiplexing Mesh Networks
1999The behavior of WDM mesh networks under dynamic traffic is an important aspect to be considered in the future optical communications. In particular the physical topology of the network influences its performance parameters. In this paper we study this aspect by considering WDM mesh networks with and without wavelength conversion under various routing ...

Traffic Grooming in Mesh WDM Optical Networks—Performance Analysis
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2004The paper develops a theoretical performance analysis model for the online single-hop traffic grooming algorithm in the mesh topology wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical network. This is done by developing a link blocking model for traffic grooming based on the continuous time Markov chain and queueing theory, and by extending the Erlang ...
