Cellulosomes from Mesophilic Bacteria [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 2003
Plant cell wall-degrading enzymes have become increasingly important, since the development of efficient biomass degradation methods and the conversion of sugars to valuable products such as butanol and amino acids and utilizable forms of energy such as ethanol and methane could lead to less dependence on imported petroleum as a fuel and chemical ...

Characterization of a Programmable Argonaute Nuclease from the Mesophilic Bacterium Rummeliibacillus suwonensis

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2022
Prokaryotic Argonautes (pAgos) from mesophilic bacteria are attracting increasing attention for their genome editing potential. So far, it has been reported that KmAgo from Kurthia massiliensis can utilize DNA and RNA guide of any sequence to effectively

Novel Methanotrophs of the Family Methylococcaceae from Different Geographical Regions and Habitats

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2015
Terrestrial methane seeps and rice paddy fields are important ecosystems in the methane cycle. Methanotrophic bacteria in these ecosystems play a key role in reducing methane emission into the atmosphere.

Reassessment of the Enteropathogenicity of Mesophilic Aeromonas Species [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2016
Cases of Aeromonas diarrhea have been described all over the world. The genus Aeromonas includes ca. 30 species, of which 10 have been isolated in association with gastroenteritis. The dominating species that account for ca. 96% of the identified strains are Aeromonas caviae, A. veronii, A. dhakensis, and A. hydrophila.

The effect of organic loading rate on foam initiation during mesophilic anaerobic digestion of municipal wastewater sludge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The impact of increasing organic load on anaerobic digestion foaming was studied at both full and bench scale. Organic loadings of 1.25, 2.5 and 5 kg VS m(-3) were applied to bench-scale digesters.

Quality and Functional Parameters of Fermented Milk Obtained from Goat Milk Fed with Broccoli and Artichoke Plant By-Products

open access: yesFoods, 2022
Large amount of vegetal by-products are generated during production and processing steps. Introducing silage from vegetable by-products into dairy goat feed would be of great interest from the point of view of reducing costs and supporting the circular ...

Dynamic Effect of Operational Regulation on the Mesophilic BioMethanation of Grape Marc

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Wine production annually generates an estimated 11 million metric tonnes of grape marc (GM) worldwide. The diversion of this organic waste away from landfill and towards its use in the generation of renewable energy has been investigated.

Efficiency of aerobic biodegradation of beet molasses vinasse under non-controlled pH: conditions for betaine removal / Efektywność tlenowej biodegradacji buraczanego wywaru melasowego przy nieregulowanym pH podłoża: określenie warunków usunięcia betainy

open access: yesArchives of Environmental Protection, 2015
Celem pracy było określenie warunków zapewniających wysoką efektywność tlenowej biodegradacji buraczanego wywaru melasowego za pomocą mieszanej kultury termo- i mezofilnych bakterii z rodzaju Bacillus w procesach okresowych prowadzonych bez regulacji pH ...

Effect of Different Immersion Tank Water Temperatures on the Microbiological Quality of Rabbit Carcasses

open access: yesAgriculture, 2023
The pre-chilling of rabbit carcasses in an immersion tank directly interferes with microbial control. Therefore, this study was developed to examine the influence of different pre-chill tank water temperatures (4, 7, and 10 °C) on the microbiological ...
