Impact of salicylic acid and sodium hydrosulfide applied singly or in combination on drought tolerance and grain yield in wheat plants

open access: yesFood and Energy Security, Volume 13, Issue 1, January/February 2024.
This research reveals the synergistic effect of salicylic acid (SA) and sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS) in enhancing wheat plant resilience to drought stress. The joint application significantly enhances plant appearance, grain yield, and regulates leaf temperature, providing a promising strategy to counteract the impact of climate change on agricultural ...

First report of Vaccaria sp. from Iran exhibiting cross-resistance to acetolactate synthase inhibitors in wheat fields [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Plant Protection
The spread of weed resistance to herbicides threatens both Iranian and global agriculture. In 2019, a study was conducted to ascertain the resistance of Vaccaria spp. to conventional herbicides used in wheat fields.

Assessing soil ecosystem disruption by mesosulfuron methyl and iodosulfuron methyl using an Integrated Biomarker approach

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B
This study examines the individual and combined effects of mesosulfuron methyl and iodosulfuron methyl on herbicide degradation, leaching, and soil enzymatic and microbial activities. Results showed that the combination of both herbicides enhanced their dissipation and increased their vertical mobility in the soil.

Efficacy evaluation of sulfosulfuron, metsulfuron-methyl plus sulfosulfuron, mesosulfuron-methyl plus ıodosulfuron-methyl and ıodosulfuron plus mesosulfuron herbicides in winter wheat (triticum aestivum L.)

open access: yes, 2013
In order to investigate the effect of sulfosulfuron, metsulfuron-methyl plus sulfosulfuron, mesosulfuron-methyl plus iodosulfuronmethyl and iodosulfuron plus mesosulfuron on weed control and wheat biological and grain yield, a two-year field experiment ...

Investigating the Metabolic Mesosulfuron-Methyl Resistance in Aegilops tauschii Coss. By Transcriptome Sequencing Combined with the Reference Genome

open access: yes
Aegilops tauschii Coss. is a malignant weed in wheat fields in China, its herbicide resistance has been threatening crop production. This study identified one mesosulfuron-methyl-resistant(R) population, JJMHN2018-05 (R), without target resistance ...

Requirement of RIZ1 for cancer prevention by methyl-balanced diet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The typical Western diet is not balanced in methyl nutrients that regulate the level of the methyl donor S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) and its derivative metabolite S-adenosylhomocysteine (SAH), which in turn may control the activity of certain ...

Effect of Clodinafop-Propargyl and Mesosulfuron-Methyl Herbicides on Wild Oat (Avena ludoviciana) Control under Moisture Stress Condition

open access: yes, 2017
In order to investigate the effects of drought stress on the effect of herbicides of Clodinafop-Propargyl (Topic) and Mesosulfuron-methyl (Chevalier) in greenhouse conditions, a split factorial experiment was conducted in 4 replications in a completely ...

Trace Level Arsenic Quantification through Methyl Red Bromination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A simple protocol has been developed for the quantification of trace level arsenic through methyl red bromination. The proposed method is based on the oxidation of arsenic(III) to arsenic(V) by the bromine and the residual bromine’s reaction with methyl ...

Cytochrome P450 BsCYP99A44 and BsCYP704A177 Confer Metabolic Resistance to ALS Herbicides in Beckmannia syzigachne

open access: yes, 2022
Beckmannia syzigachne is a noxious grassy weed that infests wheat fields in China. Previously, we identified that mesosulfuron-methyl resistance in a B. syzigachne population (R, SD04) was conferred by non-target resistance, such as cytochrome P450 mixed-
