Message Authentication and Dynamic Passwords [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The security of transactions flowing across a communications network is of ever increasing importance. In many such circumstances it is important not only to protect the messages from passive interception but also, and often of greater importance, to be able to detect any active attack against messages.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Efficient location-based conditional privacy-preserving authentication scheme for vehicle ad hoc networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2017
Due to the real-time requirement of message in vehicle ad hoc networks, it is a challenge to design an authentication for vehicle ad hoc networks to achieve security, efficiency, and conditional privacy-preserving.

Hybrid Authentication Scheme for VANET Based on Trusted Exchange Pseudonym [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2016
Two types of schemes based on pseudonym authentication and group signature authentication are compared and analyzed. This paper proposes a hybrid authentication scheme. The model builds an exchange protocol for exchanging pseudonym between adjacent nodes ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

A New Construction of Multisender Authentication Codes from Pseudosymplectic Geometry over Finite Fields

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
Multisender authentication codes allow a group of senders to construct an authenticated message for one receiver such that the receiver can verify authenticity of the received message.

MARAS: Mutual Authentication and Role-Based Authorization Scheme for Lightweight Internet of Things Applications

open access: yesSensors, 2023
The Internet of things (IoT) accommodates lightweight sensor/actuator devices with limited resources; hence, more efficient methods for known challenges are sought after. Message queue telemetry transport (MQTT) is a publish/subscribe-based protocol that

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
