Self‐Amplifying Redox Cycle Triggers Ferroptosis/Cuproptosis Synergy for Enhanced Bacterial Eradication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study designs a targeted nanocomposite (ct@HMCF‐Dex) that responds to acidic infection microenvironments, releasing components which amplify oxidative stress. It disrupts bacterial redox balance, chelates metals to sustain lipid peroxidation, and synergistically induces cuproptosis/ferroptosis‐like death.

Distal renal tubular acidosis a rarely diagnosed cause of failure to thrive: A report of three cases

open access: yesIbom Medical Journal, 2007
SUMMARY Three cases of distal renal tubular acidosis aged between 6 - 12weeks are described. The presenting features included lethargy, refusal to feed, marked periodic respiration, vomiting and recurrent episode of unexplained metabolic acidosis.

Reprogramming Antitumor Immunity: NK Cell Strategies to Navigate the Immunosuppressive Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tumor immune escape is a major barrier to durable cancer immunotherapy, as advanced malignancies create a tumor microenvironment (TME) that preferentially exhausts and disables T cell responses. While most approved cell therapies are T cell‐based, this limitation motivates the exploration of an alternative effector cell platform.

Acid-base disorders after orthotopic bladder replacement: comparison of an ileal neobladder and an ileal conduit

open access: yesRenal Failure, 2017
Objectives: For many years, creation of an orthotopic neobladder after cystectomy has been popular. In the present study, we measured the extent of metabolic acidosis in patients with ileal neobladders compared with ileal conduits and defined risk ...

Synergistic Probe Combining Lysosome Anchoring and Tumor Defense System Targeting for Precise Tumor Visualization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new generation of high‐precision fluorescent probes based on the lysosomal characteristics in tumor metabolic reprogramming and overexpressed tumor markers. The probe (CN‐D‐GGT) selectively label cancer cells in co‐culture systems and distinguish tumor lesions from inflamedand normal tissues in vivo, enabling precise tumor imaging.

An Energy Autonomous Microneedle Array‐Based Sensing System for Continuous Biomarker Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents an innovative self‐powered wearable biosensor system for real‐time monitoring of multiple biomarkers in interstitial fluid. The device integrates stainless steel‐based minimally invasive microneedles with ion‐selective membranes, enabling simultaneous Na+, K+, Ca2+, pH, and glucose detection.

Metabolic Acidosis Due To Pyroglutamic Acid

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Case Reports in Internal Medicine, 2018
Metabolic acidosis is a common clinical disturbance due to increased plasma acidity caused by a primary decrease in serum HCO3- concentration. It is classified as normal or high anion gap metabolic acidosis.
