Antitumor and chemosensitizing action of 3-bromopyruvate: Implication of deregulated metabolism
Chemico-Biological Interactions, 20173-Bromopyruvate (3-BP), brominated derivative of pyruvate, possesses strong antitumor potential, owing to its ability to inhibit multiple target molecules crucial for survival of neoplastic cells. Although, 3-BP displays cytotoxicity against a wide variety of tumors, there is no report with respect to malignancies of thymic origin.

CCN family member 1 deregulates cholesterol metabolism and aggravates atherosclerosis
Acta Physiologica, 2018AbstractAimCCN family member 1 (CCN1) is an extracellular matrix cytokine and appears in atherosclerotic lesions. However, we have no evidence to support the role of CCN1 in regulating cholesterol metabolism and atherosclerosis.MethodsApolipoprotein E‐deficient (apoE−/−) mice were used as in vivo model.

[Deregulation of homocysteine metabolism and consequences for the vascular system].
Bulletin de l'Academie nationale de medecine, 1997The link between vascular disease and elevated homocysteine levels has been recognized for more than 30 years, and association with moderately elevated levels has been suspected for 20 years. Homocysteine is a sulfhydryl-containing amino acid that is formed by the demethylation of methionine.

Decoding the metabolic program of deregulated MYCN expression in neuroblastoma

Proteostasis Deregulation by Metabolism Drives the Hallmarks of Cancer
Annual Review of BiochemistryCancer cells acquire hallmark behaviors through adaptations that extend beyond genetic and epigenetic changes. Proteostasis—the biochemical network governing protein synthesis, folding, trafficking, and degradation—is a fundamental, yet underappreciated, mediator of these adaptations that merits consideration as a hallmark-enabling mechanism. Metabolic
