Transition-Metal Alkoxides

1983
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the transition-metal alkoxides. Primary alkoxides of chromium (III) do not appear to undergo alcoholysis reactions, even under forcing conditions with other alcohols. This is rather unusual in view of the usually strong lability of the alkoxy groups exhibited in alkoxides of most of the metals studied; the ...

Thermal analysis of some metal alkoxides

Thermochimica Acta, 1982
Abstract The thermal decomposition of AI(OPri)3, Ca(OEt)2 and Mg(OEt)2 has been studied using differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetric techniques. The decomposition products have been isolated and identified by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. Probable routes for the thermal decomposition of these alkoxides have been proposed.

Infrared Spectra of Transition Metal Alkoxides.

Analytical Chemistry, 1964
Abstract : The infrared spectra of a number of transition metal isopropoxides and tetra tertiary butoxides were obtained from 5000 cm-1 to 285 cm-1 for the first time. The spectra were compared to existing infrared data on these classes of compounds. Characteristic absorptions for the isopropoxy group have been found at 1160 to 1175 cm-1 and at 1120 to

Metal Alkoxides and Dialkylamides

1972
Publisher Summary Since the metal alkoxidesM(OR), were first comprehensively reviewed in 1960 , considerable progress has been maintained and the next major review in 1967 quoted over three hundred references. The most significant advances have involved the chemistry of the transition metal alkoxides with the emphasis on the ligand field aspects

Rational construction of mixed-metal alkoxides

Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, 1990
The acidic protons in Zr2(OR)8(ROH)2, R = Pri, serve as a controlled functionality and react with Ba metal and with LiNMe2 to give the hydrocarbon-soluble heterometallic alkoxides Ba2Zr4(OR)20 and LiZr2(OR)9(ROH) which have been characterized in solution by NMR spectroscopy and in the solid state by X-ray diffraction: Zr2(OR)9 units bind the Li+ and ...

Metal Alkoxides: Models for Metal Oxides

1983
Extensive structural and electronic analogies are drawn between metal oxides and alkoxides. Reactions of metal-metal bonded alkoxides of Mo and W are discussed; and certain catalytic cycles, alkyne cyclotrimerization and olefin isomerization, are documented to demonstrate that addition and elimination from dimetal centers can occur readily in the ...

Molecular Structure Of Metal Alkoxide Precursors

MRS Proceedings, 1990
ABSTRACTOxo-alkoxides and allied derivatives are the organic counter part of polyanions and polycations. Most of them do not lead to further polymerization and are therefore dead endswhich are grnerally not directly involved in the formation of macromolecular oxide networks.

Double alkoxides of some quadrivalent metals

Journal of the Chemical Society A: Inorganic, Physical, Theoretical, 1967
The reactions of Li, Na, and K alkoxides with tetra-alkoxides of Zr, Ti, and Sn have been carried out in different molar ratios. A number of new double alkoxides have been isolated and these have been purified either by recrystallisation or by volatilisation. Their molecular weights have been determined ebullioscopically and reactions with alcohols and

Preparation of SrBi2Ta2O9 from Metal Alkoxides

Journal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology, 2000
SrBi2Ta2O9 (SBT) has potential application in FERAM. Some problems in the sol-gel processing of SBT, such as the solubility of metal alkoxides, chemical modification with a chelating reagent and crystallization behavior of the gels, are investigated.
