Acid Resistant and Highly Silver Selective Membranes Based on Charged Nanoporous 2D‐Materials

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
In this work, new membranes based on charged & nanoporous nanosheets with unprecedented selectivity to silver versus a wide range of other metallic ions are reported. Furthermore, a demonstrated and lead specific intralamellar lead pathway is demonstrated. A potential applicability for ubiquitous silver in WEEE is validated.

Pulse Electrodeposited NiFeCoMoW High‐Entropy Alloy Electrode for Efficient Alkaline Water Electrolysis

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A pulse‐electrodeposited NiFeCoMoW high‐entropy alloy grown on copper foam forms a binder‐free, hierarchical electrode for alkaline water splitting. The bifunctional catalyst achieves low overpotentials for hydrogen and oxygen evolution and enables efficient two‐electrode electrolysis, delivering 1.52 V at 10 mA cm−2 and 1.83 V at 1000 mA cm−2.

A Highly Porous Nanofibrillar PEDOT:PSS Matrix for Beyond‐Surface Precious‐Metal Utilization and Volumetric Electrocatalysis

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Solvent‐assisted crystallization transforms PEDOT:PSS into a conductive nanoporous scaffold that enables volumetric incorporation and utilization of Pt nanoparticles. Unlike surface‐limited Pt only electrodes, the PP–Pt electrode allows ion penetration and bulk catalyst activation, improving precious‐metal utilization and sustaining electrocatalytic ...

Filling a Gap in Materials Mechanics: Nanoindentation at High Constant Strain Rates up to 105 s−1

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A piezoelectric nanoindentation platform enables constant strain‐rate testing up to 105 s−1, extending experimental capabilities to extreme deformation regimes. Distinct hardness upturns are revealed across crystalline and amorphous materials, verified as intrinsic responses through quasi‐static reloading.
