Dimensional accuracy control for complex components of high-strength titanium alloys by metal injection molding

open access: yesFenmo yejin jishu
High-strength titanium alloy hinge components with complex geometry were fabricated by metal injection molding (MIM). The dimensional characteristics of these components were systematically evaluated under various processing conditions by optical and ...

The Effect of the Holding Pressure Profile on the Metal Injection Molded Component Dimensions after Sintering

open access: yesTehnički Glasnik, 2020
The volumetric flow rate (injection velocity) and the holding pressure are metal injection molding (MIM) parameters that have a strong influence on the green parts density and density homogeneity, but their effect on sintered dimensions after sintering ...

Variation in particle size fraction to optimize metal injection molding of water atomized 17–4PH stainless steel feedstocks

open access: yes, 2020
This work reports on an essential effect of rather slight size differences in water atomized 17–4PH stainless steel powder on resulting microstructure and dimensional tolerances of metal injection molding (MIM) parts.

An influence of the SS316L powder particle shape to the densification of metal injection moulding (MIM) compact [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Metal injection molding (MIM) has acquired increasing importance as a production technique for small, complex stainless steel components [1, 2]. Sintering is critical for determining the final quality of the parts produced by MIM. Because high sintered

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Metal additive manufacturing of conformal cooling channels for improving the quality of metal injection–molded products

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering
The primary advantage of metal injection molding (MIM) is that it can be used to mass-produce complex metal products; however, it requires a few secondary processes.

Optimization of the Molding Conditions for Metal Injection Molding.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Powder and Powder Metallurgy, 1994
In the metal injection molding process, fluidity of the compound with metal powder and binder is very important factor for molding without defects. In this paper, the effects of molding condisions (injection temperature and rate) on the moldability and the mechanical properties of compacts have been investigated by means of flow test and tensile test ...

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.
