dv/dt Dependence in metal oxide varistors
A dv/dt dependence has been observed in metal oxide varis-tors during impulse testing. A lossy dielectric model which provides a qualitative explanation of this behaviour can also be used to account for current overshoot.

The abnormal expansion associated with the simultaneous synthesis and sintering of Zn2SnO4 from ZnO and SnO2 is due to the reaction mechanism and correlated with the conversion. This phenomenon opens the way to manufacture porous ceramics without the addition of pore generators, simplifying the process, and especially the thermal treatment.

Metal Oxide ZnO-Based Varistor Ceramics [PDF]
A varistor is a type of resistor with a significantly non-ohmic current-voltage characteristic. The name is a portmanteau of variable resistor, which is misleading since it is not continuously user-variable like a potentiometer or rheostat and is capacitor rather than resistor at low field. The most famous type of varistor is metal oxide varistor (MOV),

Flexural performance of textile fine grained mortar containing risk husk ash as a partial cement replacement in reinforced concrete beams [PDF]
External strengthening of RC beam become a popular method to reduce deterioration. Due to highest demanding on external strengthening, a new innovation was introduced called as textile fine grained mortar (TFGM).

Development of a Low-Energy Mobile Current Waveform Impulse Generator for Application in Low Voltage Surge Arresters [PDF]
Surge arresters are at the forefront of protection against voltage surges. The loss of the protective effect of surge arresters imposes accidents and unplanned shutdowns on the power system.

CAD based design of a high energy absorption metal oxide varistor
Metal Oxide Varistors are a very common power electronic device, applied for efficient overvoltage protection at any voltage level. This piece of equipment has a high non-linear current response function of the applied voltage, and, it provides a ...

Abstract Microstructure homogeneity and grain size reduction are needed to ensure the current uniformity and reliability required in metal oxide varistors for DC circuit breakers. Cold sintering (CS)–a low‐temperature digestive liquid and high‐pressure densification process–has previously shown reduced grain growth, but it is not clear how the lower ...

The Effects of Electrical Degradation on the Microstructure of Metal Oxide Varistor [PDF]
In this paper, the findings from systematic experiments with the purpose to determine the degradation effect of single and multiple current pulses on the microstructure of the Metal Oxide (MO) varistor are described. Six distribution class varistors from
