近年,数原子から1000原子程度から構成される金属クラスターは,固体金属と原子とを結ぶ中間相として,また固体表面のモデルとして注目され,電子構造や幾何構造,さらには吸着反応性が明らかにされてきた。金属クラスターの吸着反応は,クラスターの電子状態と幾何構造との両者に支配されており,吸着反応を各原子数ごとに調べるとクラスターの構造が明らかにできる。また,合金クラスターの吸着反応では,イオン化ポテンシャルを指標とすることにより,それぞれ元素の混ざり方を知ることができる。コバルトとバナジウム(ConVm)またはナトリウム(ConNam)の二つの合金クラスターでは,金属元素同士は混ざり合いながら,安定な幾何構造へ再編されるが,シリコンとナトリウムのクラスター(SinNam)では ...

Galactic Archeology with 4MOST
4MOST is a new wide-field, high-multiplex spectroscopic survey facility for the VISTA telescope of ESO. Starting in 2022, 4MOST will deploy more than 2400 fibres in a 4.1 square degree field-of-view using a positioner based on the tilting spine principle.
