Hard versus Soft Materials as Supports for Metallocene and Post‐Metallocene Catalysts
Macromolecular Reaction Engineering, 2009AbstractThe influence of organic supports on the polymerization behavior of post‐metallocene catalysts is studied and compared with similarly supported titanium and zirconium metallocenes. The effects of the immobilization, activation, and polymerization process were studied by video microscopy, laser confocal fluorescence microscopy, SEM, and TEM.

Metallocene Catalysts in Dispersed Media
1997Metallocene catalysts are organometallic coordination compounds in which one or two cyclopentadienyl rings or substituted cyclopentadienyl rings are bonded to a central transition metal atom, as shown in Figure1. The nature and number of the rings and substituents (S), the type of transition metal (M) and its substituents (R), the type of the bridge ...

Heterogenised MAO-free Metallocene Catalysts
1999The treatment of dehydroxylated silica with B(C6F5)3 in the presence of dimethylaniline results in borato-modified silica of the approximate composition [HNMe2Ph][(SiO2)50B(C6F5)3] which on addition of metallocene dimethyls in the presence or absence of AlMe3 give catalysts for the polymerisation of ethylene.

Olefin Polymerization with Metallocene Catalysts
2014This chapter firstly explains the basic terms and concepts concerning olefin polymerization and polymer synthesis, and then provides comprehensive yet concise commentaries on olefin polymerization by metallocene catalysts. In Sect. 1.1 (Introduction), the history of olefin polymerization catalysts is briefly reviewed with a focus on the uniformity of ...

New Isotactic Polypropylenes via Metallocene Catalysts
1995Chiral bridged bisindenyl zirconoeenes with special substitution patterns on the aromatic rings are potentially commercial catalysts for the production of isotactic polypropylenes. The performance characteristics of these systems are different, the variations being induced by size and position of the substituents.
