High‐Entropy Halides for Intercalation Battery Electrode Materials

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
The introduction of the high‐entropy concept to oxides has resulted in improvements in electrochemical properties, which have also been recently applied to fluorides. This concept is a perspective of the fundamentals of high‐entropy concept applying to halides in general.

Two‐Dimensional Titanium Disulfide Nanosheets for Enhanced Capacity of Zinc‐Ion Capacitors

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
This study explores two‐dimensional titanium disulfide (2D‐TiS2) nanosheets as cathodes for zinc‐ion capacitors (ZnCs). Organolithium exfoliation enhances TiS2’s electrochemical properties, improving capacitance and Zn2+ ion intercalation compared to bulk.

Investigation of Firing Conditions and Boron Fluxes for the Optimized Synthesis of LiNi0.9Mn0.05Co0.05O2 for High Energy Density Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
A short, low temperature, and oxygen‐free route to Ni‐rich NMC90 with high capacity and first‐cycle efficiency is achieved through a boron flux synthesis. The choice of boric acid or borax flux is shown be effective in tailoring the electrochemical performance of the cathode due to their different roles in stabilizing the bulk and surface structure ...

Advancements in Seawater Electrocatalysis for Renewable Energy Conversion and Resource Extraction

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
This graphic highlights seawater electrocatalysis for sustainable energy and resource extraction, focusing on HER/OER mechanisms and material advances (non‐precious, precious, nonmetal, and bifunctional catalysts). It addresses electrocatalytic conversion of pollutants (hydrazine, urea, microplastics) and extraction of valuable ions (e. g., Li, U) from
