The creative promise of 3D digital fabrication tools is tremendous. However due to the wide range of tools and interfaces, a common static file format called STL is used for sharing designs. While customization tools add creative handles to these digital models, they are often constrained to pre-configured parameters limiting the creative potential of ...

ABSTRACT Amphibians are the most threatened vertebrate class globally. Climate change, agrochemicals, and/or pathogens and parasites are implicated in contributing to amphibian declines, either singly or in combination. We investigated individual and combined effects of elevated temperatures and atrazine (2.0 μg/L) on Lithobates [formerly Rana] pipiens

In molecular biology, illustrative animations are used to convey complex biological phenomena to broad audiences. However, such animations have to be manually authored in 3D modeling software, a time consuming task that has to be repeated from scratch for every new data set, and requires a high level of expertise in illustration, animation, and biology.

Predicting long‐term population viability for an imperiled salamander under future climate changes
We evaluated the long‐term viability of 2 reticulated flatwoods salamander (Ambystoma bishopi) populations in response to multiple future climate change scenarios. We found that there is a high probability of extinction by 2100 under some scenarios, mostly driven by severe droughts and repeated reproductive failure. Conservation actions should focus on

Imbrication and Erosional Tectonics Recorded by Garnets in the Sikkim Himalayas
The Sikkim region of the Himalayas (NE India) may form an important microplate between Nepal and Bhutan. Here we report high-resolution pressure-temperature (P-T) paths taken from garnet-bearing rocks across the northern and eastern portion of the region’

ABSTRACT Objective Aging alters mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) function, leading to dysregulated adipogenesis across tissues through biased lineage commitment. Fat redistribution from adipose depots to skeletal muscle and bone marrow is common in aging, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Reflection of sequence of geodynamic processes in geological structure of the Bug area
The age of formations composing granulite blocks of the Ukrainian Shield is a pro-blem for disputes. In order to ascertain the primary genesis and conditions of transduction of the Bug area rocks it is proposed to find out how was deep process realized ...

Cooling history of the eastern Svecokarelides: whole-rock and mica Rb-Sr and hornblende K-Ar ages in the areas of Pihtipudas-Iisalmi and Joroinen-Sulkava, Finland [PDF]
Rb-Sr age determination on mica and whole-rock samples and K-Ar age determination on hornblendes were carried out to get information on the time of metamorphism and early cooling in two Proterozic areas of the Finnish Svecokarelides.
