Petrology of the Garnet Amphibolites from the Tejići Village - Povlen Mt., Western Serbia [PDF]

open access: yesGeološki Anali Balkanskoga Poluostrva, 2002
Different metamorphic rocks discovered near the village of Tejići (Povlen Mt., Western Serbia) represent members of the olistostrome mélange metamorphosed during the obduction/emplacement of some still hot ultramafic body. They occupy the area of about 2

Polarimetry of Water Ice Particles Providing Insights on Grain Size and Degree of Sintering on Icy Planetary Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The polarimetry of the light scattered by planetary surfaces is a powerful tool to provide constraints on their microstructure. To improve the interpretation of polarimetric data from icy surfaces, we have developed the POLarimeter for ICE Samples ...

Nanoscopic Mapping of the Extracellular Space in Amyloid Plaque‐rich Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The extracellular space and diffusion around amyloid plaques are examined using shadow imaging and single‐particle tracking. Increased diffusivity is found near plaques, extracellular matrix alterations, and plaque core penetrability that varies with amyloid phenotype.

Mesostructural paragenesises of the southeastern part of the Ebeta antiform (Northern Kazakhstan)

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Геология и разведка, 2015
Data on a geoiogical structure and evolution of mesostructural complexes of a southeast part of the Ebeta antiformhas been provided. Multistage nature of the deformations and a metamorphism of a Mamyt metamorphic complex and its frame have been ...

The Mesozoic along-strike tectono-metamorphic segmentation of Longmen Shan (eastern Tibetan plateau) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The Longmen Shan belt (eastern border of the Tibetan plateau) constitutes a tectonically active region as demonstrated by the occurrence of the unexpected 2008 Mw 7.9 Wenchuan and 2013 Mw 6.6 Lushan earthquakes in the central and southern parts of the ...

Telomere Length of Peripheral Blood Leukocytes Predicts Disease Severity and Worse Survival in Systemic Sclerosis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective Peripheral blood leukocyte telomere length (PBL‐TL) shortening is associated with systemic sclerosis related interstitial lung disease (SSc‐ILD). However, its association with other organ involvement, disease severity, and survival remains unclear.

Olivine-chrome-spinel equilibrium in chromitites and ultramafites of Rai-Iz massif, Polar Urals

open access: yesЛитосфера, 2016
Olivine and chrome-spinel compositions from chromitites and ore-bearing metamorphosed ultramafic rocks of Rai-Iz massif were compared. It was established that olivine and spinel ferruginosity are directly proportional and increase monotonically from ...

Tectono-metamorphic evolution and timing of the melting processes in the Svecofennian Tonalite-Trondhjemite Migmatite Belt: An example from Luopioinen, Tampere area, southern Finland [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 1999
The Svecofennian Orogen is in southern Finland characterized by two major migmatite belts. These are the so-called Granite Migmatite Belt, in which Kfs-rich leucosomes predominate, and the Tonalite-Trondhjemite Migmatite Belt, which is characterized by ...

Ophiolite Metamorphism and Ocean-Floor Metamorphism.

open access: yesJournal of Geography (Chigaku Zasshi), 1995
Ophiolites of primary igneous origin have been more or less modified by later metamorphic processes, and there are several types of ophiolite metamorphism such as (1) the low-pressure type as recognized in ophiolites of the Mediterranean, Alps, Oman, Newfoundland, Chile, Taiwan, Borneo, California Coast Range, Hidaka Western Zone, and Horokanai, (2 ...
