Tandem Ring‐Opening–Ring‐Closing Metathesis for Functional Metathesis Catalysts [PDF]

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, 2016
AbstractUse of a tandem ring‐opening–ring‐closing metathesis (RORCM) strategy for the synthesis of functional metathesis catalysts is reported. Ring opening of 7‐substituted norbornenes and subsequent ring‐closing metathesis forming a thermodynamically stable 6‐membered ring lead to a very efficient synthesis of new catalysts from commercially ...

Controlled molecular architectures via ring opening metathesis polymerisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
This thesis describes studies into the ring opening metathesis polymerisation (ROMP) of some monocyclic alkenes, the living polymerisation of cyclopentene and the preparation of novel block copolymers and novel polyethylene architectures using having ...

Syntheses and activities of indol-2-ylidene-ligated ruthenium-based olefin metathesis catalysts

open access: yes, 2022
Here we report a new family of indol-2-ylidene (IdY)-ligated Ru-based olefin metathesis catalysts (Ru−IdY) and their X-ray crystal structures which show a unique conformation of the ruthenium environment.

Circularly Polarized Red‐NIR Emission With High Dissymmetry Factor From Achiral [Mo6I8(OCOC2F5)6]2− Cluster Anion Embedded in a Bent‐Core Liquid Crystal Host

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Associating a chiral bent core liquid crystal molecule, that self‐assembles into helical nanofilaments, with an achiral red‐NIR phosphorescent octahedral molybdenum cluster produces a hybrid material exhibiting efficient red‐NIR circularly polarized emission under UV excitation.

Fattori posizionali nella metatesi del sardo sud-occidentale

open access: yesAnnali Online dell'Università di Ferrara. Sezione Lettere, 2013
This paper aims to provide a descriptive and theoretical account of a Southern Sardinian metathesis in terms of lateral relations. Assuming the tenets of the CVCV model (Lowenstamm 1996; Scheer 2004), also known as Strict CV, it has been argued that the ...

Synthesis of fluorinated δ-lactams via cycloisomerization of gem-difluoropropargyl amides

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2010
gem-Difluoro-1,7-enyne amides are suitable building blocks for the synthesis of difluorodihydropyridinones via a ring-closing metathesis reaction, and of 4,4-difluoro-3-oxoisoquinolines through a ring-closing metathesis–enyne metathesis tandem reaction ...

Ring opening metathesis polymerisation of phenylnorbornene dicarboxyimide derivatives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The work described in this thesis illustrates that a series of exo-phenyl norbomene dicarboxyimide derivatives are synthesised and characterised using several spectroscopic methods.

Synthesis of Substituted P-Stereogenic Vinylphosphine Oxides by Olefin Cross-Metathesis

open access: yes, 2016
Substituted vinylphosphine oxides have been prepared in good yield and exclusive (E)-olefin selectivity via olefin cross-metathesis using Grubbs and Hoveyda-type ruthenium catalysts.

Mitochondria and Neuromast Tagging With Fluorescent Gallium‐Triapine Analogues: In Cellulo MP FLIM and Zebrafish Live Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fluorescent BODIPY‐conjugated thiosemicarbazone ligands and their Ga(III), In(III), and Fe(III) complexes, inspired by Triapine, are developed as theranostic agents. Multiphoton FLIM and confocal microscopy in cancer cells and zebrafish reveal real‐time uptake, mitochondrial localisation, and whilst spectroscopic assays indicated preserved complex ...

Catalytic Functionalization of Unactivated π‐Bonds Enabled by Bidentate Directing Auxiliaries

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This review explores how bidentate directing auxiliaries have advanced transition‐metal catalysis for unactivated alkene/alkyne functionalization. By leveraging chelated intermediates, bidentate directing auxiliaries enable precise hydrofunctionalization, difunctionalization, and C─H activation of π‐bonds with unique selectivity and reactivity.
