Six New Cases of 22q13.2 Gain Including TFC20: First Report of Triplication and Smallest Duplication Associated With Neurodevelopmental Delays

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 108, Issue 6, Page 731-741, December 2025.
This study reports six new cases of 22q13.2 duplication and triplication, including the TCF20 gene, associated with neurodevelopmental disorders and various morphological and systemic abnormalities. The findings suggest a variable expressivity, but their complete penetrance remains uncertain compared to well‐established loss‐of‐function variants ...

Methemoglobinemia treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy: A case report

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2018
Methemoglobinemia is a rare but clinically important condition that should be considered among differential diagnosis' in cyanosis. The conventional treatments of methemoglobinemia are high flow oxygen and methylene blue therapies. We present a 52-year ...

Effect of dissolved oxygen and aeration management on nitrification in catfish ponds

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 56, Issue 6, December 2025.
Abstract Dissolved oxygen management of ponds plays a critical role in ictalurid catfish aquaculture production. If the minimum dissolved oxygen concentration falls below 3.0 mg O2 L−1, appetite is reduced, and production ultimately decreases. Although the effect of dissolved oxygen management on catfish production has been well characterized, how ...

Transport Matters: The Critical Role of the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction (HER) in Accelerating Electrochemical Nitrate to Ammonia Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 44, November 27, 2025.
A porous cobalt‐based metal‐oxide foam catalyst is synthesized using the DHBT technique, followed by calcination. It demonstrates exceptional activity for e‐NO3RR, reaching near‐unity ammonia selectivity at low overpotentials. Dynamic surface area changes due to NO3‐ depletion are mitigated by “self‐convection” during hydrogen evolution.

A Case Report of Acute-on-Chronic Methemoglobinemia

open access: yesClinical Practice and Cases in Emergency Medicine
Introduction: Methemoglobinemia is a rare hematologic disorder of hemoglobin, in which iron contained within the heme moiety becomes oxidized from ferrous iron to ferric iron at a concentration greater than 1% in the blood.

Altered Mental Status and Cyanosis in a Pediatric Patient with Methemoglobinemia

open access: yesCase Reports in Pediatrics, 2020
Methemoglobinemia results from increased amounts of oxidized hemoglobin in the blood with an ensuing change in oxygen dissociation curve and lack of oxygen delivery to tissue.

Ternary Synergy in Layered Double Hydroxides for Efficient and Stable Nitrate Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 43, October 22, 2025.
Ternary CuZnFe LDH enables efficient electrocatalytic nitrate‐to‐ammonia conversion via controlled in situ reconstruction: zinc leaching creates porous active sites, copper reduced to metallic copper, while iron oxide keeps stable. Synergistic Cu‐Fe redox coupling drives tandem catalysis (nitrate→nitrite→NH3), achieving 95% Faraday efficiency and ...

In Situ Structural Evolution and Activity Descriptor of Atomically Dispersed Catalysts During Nitrate Electroreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 39, October 20, 2025.
The in situ evolution of single‐atom catalysts to metallic nanoclusters during nitrate electroreduction is demonstrated. A direct correlation between the OH binding energy on the metallic clusters and ammonia production rate is established as a key activity descriptor, explaining the superior performance of Ni and Co catalysts.

Nitrogen Cycling in Earth System Models: From Constraining Carbon Budgets to Projecting Pollution for Planetary Stewardship

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences, Volume 130, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract Terrestrial nitrogen cycling plays a vital role in the Earth system, influencing climate change and a myriad of dimensions of human well‐being. Earth system models (ESMs) are used to project climate change and increasingly include a representation of terrestrial nitrogen cycling.
