A stable bio‐based nanocomposite coating for urinary catheters is developed using a simple, environmentally‐friendly sonochemical process. The coating, integrating antimicrobial, antibiofilm, and antioxidant properties, effectively tackled multiple early‐stage pathogenic factors associated with catheter‐associated urinary tract infections.

Methicillin-resistantStaphylococcus aureusin Taiwan
We found a virulent closely related clone (Panton-Valentine leukocidin-positive, SCCmec V:ST59) of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in inpatients and outpatients in Taiwan. The isolates were found mostly in wounds but were also detected in blood, ear, respiratory, and other specimens; all were susceptible to ciprofloxacin, gentamicin, and ...

Growth Pattern of Magnetic Field Treated Bacteria [PDF]
A study of the induced effect of different types of weak magnetic field exposure on bacterial growth is performed, comparing the relative changes after removal from the magnetic fields. This investigation is relevant to understand the effect of magnetic field exposure on human beings due to electronic devices.

An ultrathin surface‐attached hydrogel coating is introduced that, unlike the best antifouling coatings so far, consists of hydrophilic, non‐charged, green solvent‐based monomers. It effectively renders the surfaces of medical devices stealth toward proteins, a clinical strain of MRSA and blood while offering on‐demand degradability to regenerate the ...

Pathogenesis of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection.
Staphylococcus aureus is a versatile pathogen capable of causing a wide range of human diseases. However, the role of different virulence factors in the development of staphylococcal infections remains incompletely understood.

Modern Strategies in Wound Healing: The Rise of Bacterial Cellulose Dressings
Bacterial cellulose (BC)‐based wound dressings combine high water retention, biocompatibility, and mechanical strength to support wound healing. This review highlights advanced functionalization strategies and fabrication techniques that enhance BC's therapeutic performance, establishing it as a promising material for next‐generation wound care ...
