Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Determination of the genome size and the number of markers for saturation of linkage maps of citrus
The objective of this study was to determine the size of the genome of citrus and correlate it with the number of markers necessary to saturate linkage maps.

Efficient Method for Solving TM-Polarized Plane Wave Scattering from Two-Dimensional Perfect Conductor Surfaces Using Fourier Series Approximation of the Green’s Function [PDF]
The method of moments generates a matrix which is usually solved using iterative methods due to the high computational complexity of a direct inversion.

Generalized Method-of-Moments for Rank Aggregation [PDF]
In this paper we propose a class of efficient Generalized Method-of-Moments(GMM) algorithms for computing parameters of the Plackett-Luce model, where the data consists of full rankings over alternatives.

Multipole Moments in the Effective Fragment Potential Method [PDF]
In the effective fragment potential (EFP) method the Coulomb potential is represented using a set of multipole moments generated by the distributed multipole analysis (DMA) method.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Application of multibranch linear–linear basis function for multiscale dielectric targets simulation
Here, the multibranch linear–linear basis function (MB‐LL) is applied to the Poggio–Miller–Chang–Harrington–Wu–Tsai equation for calculating the scattering problem of multi‐scale dielectric targets.

Volumetric Method of Moments and Conceptual Multilevel Building Blocks for Nanotopologies
On the basis of the relationship between charge dimensionality and singular field behavior, it is proven that in a volumetric description of a volume current carrying topology, half rooftops of different binary hierarchical level are allowed without ...
