Uptake of Methylamine Via an Inducible, Energy-Dependent Transport System in the Facultative Methylotroph Arthrobacter P1

open access: yes, 1982
Cytoplasmic membrane vesicles were prepared by a lysozyme-salt treatment from Arthrobacter P1 grown on methylamine as the carbon and energy source. In the presence of an ascorbate-phenazine methosulphate electron donor system, these vesicles accumulated ...

DKK1 Targeting in Corneal Schwann Cells Rescues Axonal Regeneration and Mechanosensory Function After Corneal Injury

open access: yesJournal of Neuroscience Research, Volume 104, Issue 6, June 2026.
The schematic illustrates that corneal injury imparted by a stromal incision or by toxic chemical exposure causes corneal Schwann cells (cSCs) and axons to degenerate rapidly, resulting in impaired mechanosensory function. We hypothesized that repair cSCs, which develop post injury, are an as‐yet‐untested cellular target for axonal regeneration.

Diazo Transfer From Nitrous Oxide Employing Phosphorus Ylides

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 22, 25 May 2026.
A phosphorus ylide‐mediated strategy achieves the direct fixation of nitrous oxide (N2O) to access diazo compounds, which after intra‐ or intermolecular trapping, afford N2‐containing organic building blocks. This approach provides an alternative to hazardous diazo‐transfer reagents and establishes N2O fixation as a sustainable methodology.

Adsorption of methylamine cations on kaolinite basal surfaces : A DFT study

open access: yes, 2020
To explore the interaction of alkylamine surfactants with kaolinite, the density functional theory (DFT) method was used to calculate the single adsorption of different methylamine cation on kaolinite basal surfaces and the competitive adsorption of ...

Too close for comfort: Self‐crowding transforms protein structure and stability beyond volume exclusion

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Proteins operate in crowded physiological environments, yet their conformational and oligomeric states are largely inferred from experiments performed under dilute buffer conditions. Here, we show that for lysozyme (LYS) and bovine serum albumin (BSA), self‐crowding at physiologically relevant concentrations alters protein structure and ...

Photoswitching of Conductance through Salicylidene Methylamine

open access: yes, 2016
Photoswitching of conductance through both stable isomers of salicylidene methylamine was investigated using nonequilibrium Green’s function method combined with density functional theory.

Mechanistic Insight Into Ionizable Cationic Lipid‐Mediated Endosomal Escape via Transient Lipid Complexes

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 32, 8 June 2026.
Coarse‐grained simulations show that the formation of transient anionic–cationic lipid pairs regulates the rate‐limiting step for the lamellar‐to‐hexagonal phase transition in mixtures of anionic and cationic lipids mimicking the endosomal membrane after fusion with lipid‐based nanoparticles, thus playing an important role in the endosomal escape of ...

Atmospheric Condensed-Phase Reactions of Glyoxal with Methylamine

open access: yes, 2009
[1] Glyoxal reacts with methylamine in drying cloud droplet/aerosol surrogates to form high molecular mass oligomers along with smaller amounts of 1,3-dimethylimidazole and light-absorbing compounds.

Investigation into the delivery and evaluation of a unique Avena sativa (Oat) Lipid Extract on skin barrier using LC‒MS/MS, Raman spectroscopy, immunostaining analysis and skin efficacy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 48, Issue 3, Page 500-517, June 2026.
Abstract Objectives Oat lipids are rich in ceramides. In this investigation, we analysed the delivery of a specific Oat Lipid Extract derived from Avena sativa, comprising ‘skin identical’ ratios of fatty acids, ceramides and cholesterol/sterol. This investigation is the first reported investigation of oat lipids utilizing Raman spectroscopy for the ...
