Estrogen stimulates dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase activity and the metabolism of asymmetric dimethylarginine. [PDF]
Background— Experimental evidence suggests that estrogens stimulate the production of nitric oxide (NO) by vascular endothelial cells. This effect has been attributed to increased expression and enzymatic activity of both the constitutive and inducible ...

This study is pioneering in constructing the shortest known synthetic pathway for L‐theanine production from xylose within E coli. Through comprehensive metabolic engineering strategies, our engineered strain achieved the highest reported L‐theanine titer from xylose, with a titer of 95.42 g/L, and a yield of 0.55 g/g.

North-south gradients in plasma concentrations of B-vitamins and other components of one-carbon metabolism in Western Europe: results from the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) Study. [PDF]
Different lifestyle patterns across Europe may influence plasma concentrations of B-vitamins and one-carbon metabolites and their relation to chronic disease. Comparison of published data on one-carbon metabolites in Western European regions is difficult

Photochemical Control of Perovskite Crystal Formation at Room Temperature
The authors demonstrate how ultraviolet (UV) light can enable the crystallization of two‐dimensional (2D) perovskite crystals that are otherwise difficult to grow using conventional thermal methods. These findings are supplemented with a detailed mechanistic description for the interaction of the UV irradiation with the perovskite precursor components.

Comparative 1‐Propanol Vapor Sensing Performance of 3D MAPbBr3 and 2D (PEA)2PbBr4
Both MAPbBr3 and (PEA)2PbBr4 perovskites exhibit exceptional sensitivity to 1‐propanol, a biomarker for lung cancer, with responses of 106 and 107 at 6000 and 7000 ppm, respectively. Notably, (PEA)2PbBr4 demonstrates superior sensitivity at low concentrations (90‐1,750 ppm).
