Lightweight Metallic MgB2 Mediates Polysulfide Redox and Promises High-Energy-Density Lithium-Sulfur Batteries

Joule, 2019
Summary The lithium-sulfur battery, despite possessing high theoretical specific energy, faces practical challenges of polysulfide shuttling and low cell-level energy density and hence requires significant functional advances over porous carbon for the ...

Review on high-performance bulk MgB2 superconductors

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2023
Although the fascinating effect of superconductivity was discovered more than 100 years ago, only a few low-temperature superconductors, especially Nb3Sn and NbTi, have reached everyday-life use.

Ultrathin MgB2 nanosheet-modified polypropylene separator for high-efficiency lithium-sulfur batteries.

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2023
The separator is an important component in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries. However, the conventional polypropylene (PP) separators have the problem of easy shuttling of lithium polysulfide (LiPSs).

Exfoliated Magnesium Diboride (MgB2) Nanosheets as Solid Fuels.

Nano letters (Print), 2023
Magnesium diboride (MgB2) has been explored as an alternative fuel to boron (B) due to its high energy density and the additive effect of magnesium (Mg) to promote B combustion.

MgB2 thin films and MgB2/AlN/MgB2 SIS junctions

Physica C: Superconductivity and its Applications, 2006
Abstract As-grown MgB 2 thin films were fabricated by a sputtering method and a co-evaporation method. We found that the critical temperatures strongly depended on the deposition rate. The MgB 2 thin films showed critical temperatures of 29 K for the sputtering method and 35 K for the co-evaporation method with relatively low substrate temperatures.

Predicting doped MgB2 superconductor critical temperature from lattice parameters using Gaussian process regression

, 2020
Magnesium boride, MgB2, has attracted much attention since the discovery of its superconductivity in 2001. The absence of weak-links in grain boundaries, less prominent anisotropy, rather simple powder-in-tube wire fabrication techniques, and much lower ...

A record-high trapped field of 5.6 T in the stacking of MgB2/TiB2 composite bulks prepared by an in-situ hot isostatic pressing method

Superconductors Science and Technology, 2020
We have studied the trapped field properties of triple and double stacking of MgB2/TiB2 composite superconductor bulks magnetized by field-cooled magnetization. The triple-stacked MgB2/TiB2 bulks trapped a magnetic field of 5.58 T successfully at 11.3 K,
