Determination of magnetic levitation force properties of bulk MgB2 for different permanent magnetic guideways in different cooling heights

, 2020
In our study as different from the literature, the magnetic levitation force between a bulk MgB2 and two different permanent magnetic guideway (PMG) arrangements, which are Halbach and Conventional PMGs, were investigated in different cooling heights ...

Superconducting MgB2 Microstrips

Czechoslovak Journal of Physics, 2004
The MgB2 superconducting thin films were prepared on NbN buffered Si(100) substrate by e-beam sequential evaporation. An in-situ fabrication process allows to prepare polycrystalline (with grain size ≈10 nm) MgB2 thin films with a maximum zero resistance critical temperature as high as 36 K.

Superconducting cellular MgB2

The Physics of Metals and Metallography, 2007
A new composite superconducting material in the form of a cellular structure consisting of large Mg grains surrounded by thin MgB2 layers has been prepared. The superconducting properties of such a cellular structure were found to depend on the thickness of the superconducting layer d s. As d s decreases from ∼30 to 1 μm,

MgB2, Iron Pnictides

2021
The search for new superconductors continued even after the discovery of the cuprate superconductors. We will briefly describe the most important developments. In 2001, Jun Akimitsu and colleagues from Tokyo reported the discovery of superconductivity in the compound magnesium diboride (MgB2) with the critical temperature TC = 39 K.

Rare earth doping effects on superconducting properties of MgB2: A review

Journal of Rare Earths, 2019
Rare earth (RE) elements and their compounds have been doped into MgB2 since the discovery of the superconductivity of MgB2. The doping effects of RE elements and RE compounds are summarized in terms of different doping methods and the accompanying ...

Fabrication of MgB2/Au/Nb and MgB2/Nb Josephson junctions

Physica C: Superconductivity, 2007
Abstract We have fabricated planar type Josephson junctions from MgB 2 thin films by using a Nb thin film as the counter electrode with and without a normal Au barrier layer. The superconducting MgB 2 layer was prepared by diffusion-annealing of B precursor film on a sapphire substrate in Mg vapor.
