Structure of V–MgO and MgO–V interfaces
Philosophical Magazine A, 1995Abstract V and MgO films of various thicknesses were deposited on the (001)MgO surface of a MgO substrate by molecular beam epitaxy to prepare two different interfaces: V[sbnd]MgO and MgO[sbnd]V. Cross-sectional specimens were prepared from … V/MgO/V/MgO multilayers and the V[sbnd]MgO and MgO[sbnd]V interfaces were investigated from different ...

Surface Diffusion in MgO and Cr‐Doped MgO
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1982The surface diffusion of MgO and Cr‐doped MgO was examined using grain‐boundary grooving. Measurements were taken at T=1100° to 1400°C for a concentration range of 0 to 0.442 at.% Cr. The activation energy for surface diffusion of MgO was found to be 239± kj/mol. The surface diffusivity did not change markedly with chromium concentration.

Preparation and properties of sputtered MgO/Au, MgO/Ag, and MgO/Ni cermet films
Journal of Applied Physics, 1974Finely grained films of three cermets-MgO/Au, MgO/Ag, and MgO/Ni-have been grown by rf sputtering from composite targets. Electron-microscopic studies show that MgO/Au and MgO/Ag films consist of small crystallites (usually <150 Å) of both MgO and Au or Ag. In MgO/Ni films, it appears that amorphous Ni particles are embedded in a polycrystalline

MgO-modified biochar increases phosphate retention and rice yields in saline-alkaline soil
Journal of Cleaner Production, 2019Biochar modifications and fortifications are used to increase soil nutrient retention and increase crop yields, but the effects on phosphate (Pi) availability for plants are unknown for saline-alkaline soils.

Calculated enthalpies of mixing of MnO/MgO and NiO/MgO
J. Mater. Chem., 1994Calculations are reported of the enthalpies of mixing of MnO/MgO and NiO/MgO based on temperature-dependent lattice statics and dynamics and ab initio periodic Hartree–Fock methodology with a posteriori corrections for electron correlation derived from density-functional theory. For MnO/MgO both methodologies predict enthalpies of mixing that are close

A novel nanocomposite film was fabricated by carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) and nano MgO for potential food packaging applications. The impregnation of MgO nanoparticles into CMCS was evidenced by the X-ray diffraction and FTIR spectroscopy.

Density and molar volume of MgO–Al2O3–SiO2, MgO–CaO–SiO2 and MgO–CaO–Al2O3–SiO2 glasses have been correlated with the structure by following the change in type and concentration of structural units with composition. It is assumed that for (MgO+CaO)≥Al2O3 all Al atoms form AlO4 tetrahedra. The type of modified units of SiO2 (Q3 and Q2) are determined by
