MHD Waves in a Solar Prominence

1993
The presence of short- and long-period oscillations in quiescent solar prominences has been abundantly reported during recent years. In this paper, we use the Kippenhahn-Schluter model to investigate the magneto-acoustic-gravity fast and slow modes of vibration of a prominence.

MHD Waves in Magnetic Flux Tubes

1996
This review is concerned with a recent development in the analytic theory of resonant Alfven waves in nonuniform magnetic flux tubes in the solar atmosphere. It discusses how an analytic study of simplified versions of the dissipative MHD equations for plasmas with high Reynolds numbers leads to the fundamental conservation law and simple analytic ...

MHD Waves in Astrophysical Plasma

2012
There are four different modes of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves in an ideal plasma with magnetic field. They can create turbulence, nonlinearly cascade in a wide range of wave-numbers, accelerate particles and produce a lot of interesting effects under astrophysical conditions. New interesting results have been obtained in the classical theory of the
