Rational Design and Antimycobacterial Evaluation of Aryl Sulfonamide–Linked Isoniazid Hydrazones Against Mycobacterium Tuberculosis

open access: yesChemMedChem, EarlyView.
Molecular docking shows that ligands 8 (a–i) adopt a U‐shaped geometry in the InhA active site, enabling stronger interactions than 7 (j–r). Surprisingly, both sets display similar potency, indicating that factors like electronic effects or solvation also influence anti‐TB activity.

Donor–Acceptor Interactions of C60F18 with Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons: Size Effects in Bulk Crystallization and Surface Constraints

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
Donor–acceptor (D/A) interactions between spheroidal C60F18 and three planar polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)—coronene (CORO), perylene , and pyrene—show a strong dependence on PAH size. X‐Ray diffraction reveals increasing layered stacking (either D/A/D/A or D/A/A/D/A/A).

Light‐Induced On‐Surface Reactions: Bridging Photochemistry and Surface Science

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
This minireview examines molecular on‐surface photochemistry as an emerging strategy for synthesizing carbon‐based nanomaterials on substrates. A special emphasis is placed on bridging traditional photochemistry principles with surface science concepts.

Wetlands as environments of early human occupation: A new classification for freshwater palaeowetlands

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, EarlyView.
A new classification for inland freshwater palaeowetlands to be used in the field or core laboratory by sedimentologists, providing examples from the Guadix Basin (southern Spain). Abstract Present wetlands have proven to be delicate, biodiverse ecosystems, that are natural sinks for CO2 and act as good indicators for climate changes.

Diagenetic processes controlled by volcanic detritus of the Lower‐Middle Permian Shanxi and Shihezi sandstone formations, North Ordos Basin, China

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, EarlyView.
Comparisons of Lower‐Middle Permian Shanxi and Lower Shihezi formations from the North Ordos Basin reveal that different types and percentages of volcanic detritus induced by active magmatic cycles can significantly change diagenetic evolution and favourable reservoirs.

Thrust measurements of a hollow-cathode discharge [PDF]

open access: yes
Thrust measurements of a hollow cathode mercury discharge were made with a synthetic mica target on a torsion pendulum. Thrust measurements were made for various target angles, tip temperatures, flow rates, keeper discharge powers, and accelerator ...
