X-rays and photocarcinogenesis in hairless mice
Archives of Dermatological Research, 2013It is well known that excessive X-ray radiation can cause non-melanoma skin cancers. With the increased incidence of sun-related skin cancer there is a need to investigate the combination of sunlight and X-rays. Immunocompetent C3.Cg/TifBomTac mice (n = 298) were divided into 12 groups. Mice were irradiated with 12, 29 or 50 kV X-rays.

Temperature over tumors in hairless mice
Cryobiology, 1985The question of whether tumors are warmer or colder than surrounding tissue is considered in these experiments which use a highly suitable animal model, the hairless mouse. Temperatures of skin over induced growing subdermal tumors in these mice were monitored by AGA 680 Color Thermovision.

Desensitization to DNFB in hairless mice
Contact Dermatitis, 1987Naive hairless mice may be rendered partly tolerant to dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB) by painting UNFB on skin irradiated with 30 mJ·cm−2 ultraviolet B light (UVB) over 4 days.
