Genotypic differences in mesolimbic enkephalin gene expression in DBA/2J and C57BL/6J inbred mice

European Journal of Pharmacology, 1996
The DBA/2J and C57BL/6J (herein referred to as DBA and C57) inbred mouse strains exhibit low and high predispositions for voluntary ethanol consumption, respectively, but the neurobiological basis underlying this differential drug vulnerability remains poorly understood. Comparison of endogenous brain proenkephalin gene expression showed the C57 mouse,

[Biotransformation of mexidol in inbred BALB/C and C57BL/6 mice].

Eksperimental'naia i klinicheskaia farmakologiia, 2005
The pharmacokinetics and biotransformation of mexidol was studied in BALB/C and C57BL/6 mice. The blood plasma contains dealkylated metabolites, and the urine contains glucuronoconjugated derivatives of the drug. The process of glucuronoconjugation more intensively proceeds in C57BL/6 mice than in BALB/C mice.

Neuroanatomical divergence between two substrains of C57BL/6J inbred mice entails differential radial-maze learning

Brain Research, 1994
Compared to the parental strain C57BL/6J, male mice from the mutated substrain C57BL/6JNmg show smaller hippocampal intra- and infrapyramidal mossy fiber projections and a correlated inability to master a simple spatial radial-maze task. Possibly, these two substrains differ for only one single gene, making them a valuable model to investigate the ...

Complete mitochondrial genome sequence and mutations of the Glioma model inbred C57BL/6 mice strain

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014
In the present work we undertook the complete mitochondrial genome sequencing of an important glioma model inbred rat strain for the first time. The total length of the mitogenome was 16,308 bp. It harbored 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes and 1 non-coding control region (D-loop region).

PCBs and PBBs: Biologic and toxic effects on C57BL/6J and DBA/2J inbred mice

Toxicology, 1984
Treatment of genetically inbred "responsive" C57BL/6J and "non-responsive" DBA/2J mice with Aroclor 1254 or fireMaster BP-6 resulted in the induction of hepatic microsomal benzo[a]pyrene hydroxylase only in the former mouse strain and aminopyrine N-demethylase in both strains of mice.

Discriminative stimulus effects of 5.6mg/kg pregnanolone in DBA/2J and C57BL/6J inbred mice

Alcohol, 2005
Neurosteroids represent a class of endogenous compounds that exert rapid, nongenomic effects through neurotransmitter receptor systems such as gamma-aminobutyric acid(A) (GABA(A)). Two neurosteroids, allopregnanolone (3alpha-hydroxy-5alpha-pregnan-20-one) and pregnanolone (3alpha-hydroxy-5beta-pregnan-20-one), possess anxiolytic and sedative properties

Antigenic differences between male and female mice of the inbred C57BL line

Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1963
A method of anaphylaxis with desensitization was used to show on guinea pigs the presence of sex-linked antigens in the kidney and liver tissues of male mice (C57BL inbred strain). In the majority of the guinea pigs there occurred anaphylactic shock symptoms in response to the injection of the antigen of male mice.

Age-related changes in the motricity of the inbred mice strains 129/sv and C57BL/6j

Behavioural Brain Research, 2007
The development of motor skills was studied at different stages in the life of the mouse, focusing on three key aspects of motor development: early rhythmic motor activities prior to the acquisition of quadruped locomotion, motor skills in young adults, and the effect of aging on motor skills.

Genetic analysis of the mandible morphology in DDD.Cg-$$A^{y}$$/Sgn and C57BL/6J inbred mice

Journal of Genetics, 2019
Quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping analysis was performed for the mandible morphology in DDD.Cg-Ay/Sgn and C57BL/6J inbred mice. The size and shape of the mandible was analysed by landmark-based geometric morphometrics as the centroid size and principal components (PCs), respectively.
