Genetic analysis of cerebellar folial pattern in crosses of C57BL/6J and DBA/2J inbred mice

Brain Research, 1993
Variation in the cerebellar folial pattern of mice is influenced by genetic elements [Inouye, M. and Oda, S., J. Comp. Neurol., 190 (1980) 357-362]. In crosses of C57BL/6J and DBA/2J inbred mice, the presence or absence of a specific fissure, the intraculminate fissure, is largely determined by a single genetic locus (Cfp-1), which is located on distal

Quantitative trait loci that control body weight in DDD/Sgn and C57BL/6J inbred mice

Mammalian Genome, 2016
Inbred DDD/Sgn mice are heavier than inbred C57BL/6J mice. In the present study, we performed quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping for body weight using R/qtl in reciprocal F2 male populations between the two strains. We identified four significant QTL on Chrs 1, 2, 5, and 17 (proximal region).

Genotypic differences in mesolimbic enkephalin gene expression in DBA/2J and C57BL/6J inbred mice

European Journal of Pharmacology, 1996
The DBA/2J and C57BL/6J (herein referred to as DBA and C57) inbred mouse strains exhibit low and high predispositions for voluntary ethanol consumption, respectively, but the neurobiological basis underlying this differential drug vulnerability remains poorly understood. Comparison of endogenous brain proenkephalin gene expression showed the C57 mouse,

Complete mitochondrial genome sequence and mutations of the Glioma model inbred C57BL/6 mice strain

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014
In the present work we undertook the complete mitochondrial genome sequencing of an important glioma model inbred rat strain for the first time. The total length of the mitogenome was 16,308 bp. It harbored 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes and 1 non-coding control region (D-loop region).

Differences in adult Schistosoma mansoni worm burden requirements for the establishment of resistance to reinfection in inbred mice. I. CBA/J and C57BL/6 mice.

American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1980
Schistosoma mansoni infections of CBA/J and C57BL/6 mice provided the hosts with partial protection against reinfection by S. mansoni cercariae. The level of protection, assayed by perfusion 21-25 days after challenge, varied over the course of infection.

Characterization of the Discriminative Stimulus Effects of the Neuroactive Steroid Pregnanolone in DBA/2J and C57BL/6J Inbred Mice

The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, 2005
Neurosteroids represent a class of endogenous compounds that exert rapid, nongenomic effects through neurotransmitter receptor systems such as GABA(A). Two neurosteroids, allopregnanolone (3alpha-hydroxy-5alpha-pregnan-20-one) and pregnanolone (3alpha-hydroxy-5beta-pregnan-20-one), possess anxiolytic and sedative properties and show substitution for ...

DEXAMETHASONE INFLUENCE ON MORPHINE-INDUCED ANALGESIA IN OUTBRED SWISS AND IN INBRED DBA/2J AND C57BL/6 MICE.

Clinical Neuropharmacology, 1992
1. The influence of dexamethasone on morphine analgesia in three different strains of mice (Swiss, DBA/2J and C57BL/6) was studied by using the tail flick test. 2. I.c.v. as well as i.p. injections of dexamethasone did not modify nociceptive response in all strains. 3. I.c.v.

Cocaine Reward and Locomotor Activity in C57BL/6J and 129/SvJ Inbred Mice and Their F1 Cross

Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 1997
Large individual differences exist among mice in their behavioral responses to drugs of abuse, and many of these differences have a substantial genetic basis. The creation of new animal models using recombinant DNA technology has provided new genetic tools for assessing the role of specific candidate genes in drug response.
