Background Even though hematopoietic stem cell transplantation can be curative in patients with severe combined immunodeficiency, there is a need for additional strategies boosting T cell immunity in individuals suffering from genetic disorders of ...

This non‑enzymatic function of DHODH drives sunitinib resistance by competing with TRIM37 to block TRIM28 ubiquitination, thereby stabilizing TRIM28 and activating VEGFA transcription. Disrupting the DHODH–TRIM28 interaction with lisaftoclax restores drug sensitivity.

This study reveals a novel GC therapy targeting cholesterol homeostasis. Inhibiting the SCAP sterol‐sensing domain causes lethal ER stress via cholesterol accumulation, paradoxically forcing continuous synthesis that triggers ferroptosis. The findings link sterol sensing, metabolic dysregulation, and ferroptosis, establishing an anti‐cancer paradigm ...

At present, there is no animal model for smallpox that reflects the weakened immune system in people and can therefore help assess the prophylactic (highly preventive) efficiency of antiviral drugs. To fill in the gap, we have explored the possibility of

Mycobacterium avium infection in BALB/c and SCID mice [PDF]
BALB/c and severe combined immunodeficient (SCID) mice were inoculated intraperitoneally with Mycobacterium avium and the numbers of cfu were monitored for 70 days in spleen, liver, lung, kidney, brain and peritoneum. While BALB/c mice formed typical granulomas and controlled bacterial growth in organs, a delay in development of lesions and a modest ...

Autoantigen mRNA‐LNP Vaccination Drives Therapeutic Efficacy in Preclinical Models for Autoimmunity
Systemic and intramuscular delivery of autoantigen mRNA via lipid nanoparticles reprograms antigen‐presenting cells toward a mature, homeostatic state, driving antigen‐specific T cell exhaustion and providing therapeutic efficacy across autoimmune disease models.

In non‐tumorous lung tissues, FOXN3 promotes the transcriptional activation of p53 by facilitating its recruitment to target promoters, thereby suppressing lung tumorigenesis through activation of the p53 signaling pathway. Conversely, in lung adenocarcinoma tissues, hyperphosphorylated FOXN3 dissociates from the promoters of p53‐responsive genes and ...

Filariasis is a global health problem targeted for elimination. Curative drugs (macrofilaricides) are required to accelerate elimination. Candidate macrofilaricides require testing in preclinical models of filariasis.

We have previously shown that antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) cooperates with immunotoxin (IT)-mediated killing of human leukaemia cells in an severe combined immunodeficient (SCID) mouse model of human T-cell acute lymphoblastic ...
