Micro-Doppler Removal in the Radar Imaging Analysis
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2013The micro-Doppler (m-D) effect is caused by fast moving reflectors. This effect may significantly decrease the readability of the inverse synthetic aperture radar/synthetic aperture radar (ISAR/SAR) images. An L-statistics-based method for m-D effects removal is proposed.

Stride rate in radar micro-doppler images
2009 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, 2009We extract gait information from the radar micro-Doppler signals generated by human motion. We demonstrate the extraction of information associated with gait, especially the stride rate, from simulated and measured radar data. We describe micro-Doppler algorithms used for the extraction of stride rate, the radar sensors used for the measurements, and ...

Classification of human micro-Doppler in a radar network
2013 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarCon13), 2013The unique, bi-pedal motion of humans has been shown to generate a characteristic micro-Doppler signature in the time-frequency domain that can be used to discriminate humans from not just other targets, but also between different activities, such as walking and running.

Micro-Doppler radar signatures of human activity
SPIE Proceedings, 2010We will present the continued development of a millimeter-wave/sub-THz radar system used to capture and assess micro-Doppler signatures of humans. This system is being developed to remotely monitor respiration and heartbeat rates at standoff distances of up to 100 meters.

Multistatic radar micro-Doppler
2020This chapter reviews how multistatic radar sensor networks can be utilised to sense a series of different moving targets to extract their micro-Doppler (μD) signatures and use these for classification purposes. The field of radar has advanced significantly since its inception in the early twentieth century.

Experimental Observations of Micro-Doppler Signatures With Passive Radar
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2019Passive radar's ability to observe micro-Doppler phenomena from helicopters, fixed-wing propeller aircraft, and jet engine modulation is examined. Experimental results from a digital television based passive radar demonstrate its potential to observe characteristic signatures of multiple types of air targets and estimate helicopters’ primary rotor ...

Micro-doppler radar for human breathing and heartbeat detection
2015 Computational Electromagnetics International Workshop (CEM), 2015Detection of live-human presence under the debris is a critical problem especially after natural disasters such as earthquakes and landslides. If a radar system can detect breathing and heartbeats, it would be invaluable and preferable to existing acoustic or ultrasound based systems.
