Micro-Range/Micro-Doppler Decomposition of Human Radar Signatures

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2012
Recently, the use of micro-Doppler radar signatures for target classification has become an area of focus, in particular for the case of dynamic targets where many components are interacting over time. To fully exploit the signature information, individual scattering centers may be automatically extracted and associated over the full target observation.

Phenomenology of Radar Micro-Doppler Signatures

2014
In this chapter, we introduce mathematics of the micro-Doppler effect in radar, derive basic formulas of micro-Doppler shifts due to vibration, rotation, tumbling and conning, and extract micro-Doppler signatures using time-frequency analysis.

DC-offset Estimation of Multiple CW Micro Doppler Radar

2018 26th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2018
De-offset estimation of quadrature continuous-wave (CW) radar has been studied for years. Studies have shown that the estimation error increases when target movement with respect to the radar is small. This paper presents a method that uses multiple simultaneous CW frequencies for the de-offset estimation, which makes the de-offset estimation easy in ...

Radar Micro-Doppler Signature of Wind Turbines

2014
The radar micro-Doppler signatures of wind turbines have been discussed in this chapter. Due to the extremely large dimension and blade rotation, an increasingly large number of wind turbines have become potential interference to radar operations. The interactions between wind turbines and radar especially weather radars are analyzed, and some examples

Advances in applications of radar micro-Doppler signatures

2014 IEEE Conference on Antenna Measurements & Applications (CAMA), 2014
Micro-Doppler signatures have been widely applied in civilian and military uses, In the paper, an overview of recent advances in extractions and applications of radar micro-Doppler signatures is presented, including recognition of space, air, and ground targets, combined micro-Doppler with range-Doppler features, through-wall micro-Doppler signatures ...

Radar Micro-Doppler classification of Mini-UAVs

2015
The radar micro-Doppler signature of a target depends on its micro-motion, i.e., the motion of parts of a target relative to the motion of the target as a whole. These micro-motions are very characteristic considering different target classes, e.g., the slow pendulum-like motion of a bird’s wings versus the rapidly rotating propellers of a small fixed ...
