Acoustic micro-Doppler radar for human gait imaging

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2007
A portable acoustic micro-Doppler radar system for the acquisition of human gait signatures in indoor and outdoor environments is reported. Signals from an accelerometer attached to the leg support the identification of the components in the measured micro-Doppler signature.

Micro-Doppler analysis and application of radar targets

2008 International Conference on Information and Automation, 2008
Radar target micro-Doppler signatures reflect the electromagnetic characteristics, geometry structures and motion signatures of the target, which has been shown to be promising signatures for application. In this paper, we review the present research status and some key techniques in this field, including the analysis of micro-Doppler signatures ...

Wideband radar micro-doppler applications

SPIE Proceedings, 2013
Wideband radar provides a significant improvement over traditional narrowband radars for micro-Doppler analysis because the high bandwidth can be used to separate many of the signals in range, allowing a simpler decomposition of the micro-Doppler signals. Recent wideband radar work has focused on micro-Doppler, but there is a point where the narrowband

Visualizing and displaying radar micro-doppler data

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
A time-integrated range-Doppler map shows the micro-Doppler characteristics of targets in radar images that enable an operator to classify different target types and to classify different activities being done by the targets. A time-integrated range-Doppler map is a compilation of range-Doppler maps over time that results in a spectrogram-like ...

Radar Micro-Doppler Signature Analysis with HHT

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2010
Radar micro-Doppler signature analysis of vibrating targets with the joint time-frequency methods can provide useful information for target detection, classification, and recognition. We employ a well-known method for nonlinear and nonstationary signals, Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) as a new approach in micro-Doppler analysis.

Micro-Doppler Signature Extraction with Multibeam Radar

2019 International Radar Conference (RADAR), 2019
Orthogonal and quasi-orthogonal waveforms are used in a multibeam radar (MBR) to isolate different channels and reduce cross-channel interference. Each channel provides an independent radar beam that performs a specific functionality without interfering with adjacent channels.

Analysis of micro-doppler effect in SIMO radar

2010 2nd International Conference on Signal Processing Systems, 2010
SIMO (Single Input Multiple Output) radar system capitalizes on the receiving diversity, so it can obtain more information about the target and highly improve the target recognition capability of radar. In this paper, the micro-Doppler effect induced by rotation and vibration parts of target in SIMO radar system which transmitting single frequency ...

Mobility classification of cattle with micro-Doppler radar

2023
Lameness in dairy cattle is a welfare concern that negatively impacts animal productivity and farmer profitability. Micro-Doppler radar sensing has been previously suggested as a potential system for automating lameness detection in ruminants. This thesis investigates the refinement of the proposed automated system by analysing and enhancing the ...

Analytic radar micro-Doppler signatures classification

SPIE Proceedings, 2017
Due to its capability of capturing the kinematic properties of a target object, radar micro-Doppler signatures (m-DS) play an important role in radar target classification. This is particularly evident from the remarkable number of research papers published every year on m-DS for various applications.
