Germanium (Ge) all‐dielectric metasurfaces can be leveraged to strongly enhance the radiative emission from Ge layers grown on silicon‐on‐insulator substrates by industry‐standard processes. At room‐temperature, the narrowband photoluminescence (PL) intensity is enhanced by a factor ∼40× with respect to unstructured films.

Effects of Sliding Conditions on Improvement of Lubrication with Micro Pits in Metal Forming.
A series of experiments have been conducted using a rolling-type tribometer to investigate the mechanism and lubricating effects of the outflow behavior of lubricant trapped in a pit. Experiments using aluminum and mild steel sheets with regularly arranged pits showed that lubricant flows out along the friction stress direction and moves larger ...

A Low‐Cost, Handheld Optical Stiffness Sensor for Minimally Invasive Surgery
A novel handheld stiffness sensor is presented for real‐time tissue stiffness characterization. By simultaneously sensing contact force and tissue deformation, the device enables accurate stiffness quantification without requiring precise manual control. This approach offers a promising solution for intraoperative tumor detection and minimally invasive

A Study on Micro-Pit Texture Parameter Optimization and Its Tribological Properties
In this paper, the effect of micro-dimple textures (produced by a laser) on the tribological properties of bearings is investigated. This study offers guidelines to reduce the friction torque of the bearing pair and addresses the problem of difficult start-ups after shutdowns.

Flexoelectricity in Photoconversion: Fundamentals, Materials, and Outlooks
Mechanical bending of a flexible cantilever induces a strain gradient in the photoactive material. The resulting flexoelectric field couples with photovoltaic and photoconductive effects, modulating charge generation, separation, and collection. A comparative analysis of oxide perovskites, halide perovskites, and two‐dimensional materials is presented,
