Off-the-Vine Ripening of Tomato Fruit Causes Alteration in the Primary Metabolite Composition [PDF]
The influence of postharvest fruit ripening in the composition of metabolites, transcripts and enzymes in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is poorly understood.

Effects of flooding stress in 'Micro-Tom' tomato plants transformed with different levels of mitochondrial sHSP23.6. [PDF]
Soil flooding is an environmental stressor for crops that can affect physiological performance and reduce crop yields. Abiotic stressors cause changes in protein synthesis, modifying the levels of a series of proteins, especially the heat shock proteins (

The Effect of Biochar on Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Cultivar Micro-Tom Grown under Continuous Light [PDF]
Continuous lighting (CL) has the potential to increase crop yield in greenhouse production. Tomato plants, however, when exposed to CL develop inter-vascular chlorosis, a leaf injury which causes a reduction in chlorophyll content and necrosis.

Impact of UV irradiation in leaves, fruits and suspension-cultured cells of Micro-Tom, tomato
The present study aims to understand both positive and negative impacts of ultraviolet (UV) rays in living dwarf tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L. cv. Micro-Tom).

Sound vibrations (SV) are known to influence molecular and physiological processes that can improve crop performance and yield. In this study, the effects of three audible frequencies (100, 500 and 1000 Hz) at constant amplitude (90 dB) on tomato Micro ...

'Micro-Gold' Miniature Dwarf Tomato
'Micro-Gold' is a miniature dwarf tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) with gold-colored fruit. It is a comparison to 'Micro-Tom' (Scott and Harbaugh, 1989), which has been the smallest tomato cultivar released to date.

Genetic and physiological characterization of tomato cv. Micro-Tom [PDF]
Based on its compact habit, Micro-Tom, a dwarf cultivar of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.), has been proposed as a preferred variety to carry out molecular research in tomato. This cultivar, however, is poorly characterized. It is shown here that Micro-Tom has mutations in the SELF-PRUNING (SP) and DWARF (D) genes.
