A fluidic micro-actuator with an integrated inductive position sensor

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2006
An important technological barrier in the development of microrobotic systems is the lack of compact sensor-actuator systems. This paper presents a piston-cylinder fluidic microactuator with an integrated inductive position sensor. Such positioning systems offer great opportunities for all devices that need to control a large number of degrees of ...

Investigation of an advanced micro-inductive sensor

open access: yes2012 IEEE Sensors, 2012
This paper presents the characterization of a miniaturized displacement sensor based on the Inductosyn® principle. In comparison to commercially available large-scaled inductive sensors the proposed linear transducer is fabricated in thin-film technology enabling a signal period of 44 μm.

Ferromagnetic Metal Particle Detection Including Calculation of Particle Magnetic Permeability Based on Micro Inductive Sensor

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2021
As the working medium of machine, lubrication oil system is a very important component, which can be used to judge the operating conditions of machine, moreover, lubricating oil detection can eliminate the need for costly machine shutdowns for inspection. Metal particle is the most important parameter in lubrication oil detection.

Microfabricated inductive linear micro positioning sensor

open access: yesProceedings of IEEE Sensors, 2004., 2006
The inductance of an inductive device with a moving core changes as a function of the core position. By extending this principle to a microtransformer with multiple, evenly spaced cores, a measurement system combining features of analog (variable reluctance) and incremental positioning may be devised.

Inductive Micro Tri-Axial Tactile Sensor Using a CMOS Chip With a Coil Array

IEEE Electron Device Letters, 2019
This letter presents a simple approach to implement the inductive-type micro tri-axial tactile sensor by integrating a complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) chip with sensing coils and a stainless steel sheet (as the sensing interface) using polymer encapsulation.
