Deciphering Small Molecule Diffusion Parameters Across Light Responsive Polymersome Membranes

Light‐responsive polymersomes bearing donor–acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASAs) enable programmable control over small‐molecule transport across synthetic membranes. By systematically varying DASA density, an optimal functionalization regime is identified that maximizes light‐gated permeability.

MAGTWIST: A Magnetically‐Driven Rotary Actuator Using a Traveling‐Wave With Integrated Stiffness Tunability

MAGTWIST: A compact magnetic rotary actuator, enabling smooth, stepless rotation, and on‐demand locking. Inspired by peristalsis, a soft polymer belt generates a traveling‐wave, enabling 270° rotation when heated. Cooling stiffens the belt, locking it in position and enabling it to withstand high loads.

Nanolayer‐Encapsulated Stretchable Liquid‐Metal Sheets for Thermal Management

Indirect Band Edge and Chain‐Locked Linear Dichroism in the Quasi‐1D Van der Waals Antiferromagnet AgCrP2S6

AgCrP2S6 reveals a momentum‐indirect band edge (≈1.35 eV) and chain‐locked linear dichroism: the first direct transitions emerge at 1.6–1.8 eV for E||a. Asymmetrical Stokes profiles are produced if the photospheric magnetic and velocity fields are structured on scales smaller than the mean-free-path of the photons. Here we put forward a compact analytical expression for the radiative transfer equation in this case.

The micro-structure of attention

We investigate three possible methods of specifying the microstructure of attention feedback: contrast gain, additive and output gain, using simple single node and 3-layer cortical models composed of graded or spiking neurons. Contrast gain and additive attention are also tested in a spiking network which is simplified by mean field methods.
