3D virtual histology demonstrates tumour connectivity in spread through air spaces (STAS) of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 89, Issue 1, Page 69-80, July 2026.
STAS‐positive lung nodules were analysed using histology, clinical CT, and synchrotron‐based μCT. μCT enables 3D spatial insights of STAS clusters which appear consistently connected to alveolar or vascular structures, suggesting non‐random distribution.

Dough Extrusion 3D Printing of Bioglass With Physico‐Mechanical and Biological Assessments for Bone Tissue Engineering

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Glass Science, Volume 17, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Over the past few decades, tissue engineering has undergone significant advancements, enabling the development of complex and customizable synthetic tissue constructs. Among these, 3D printing has emerged as a powerful technique for fabricating scaffolds with precisely controlled architectures capable of mimicking tissue‐specific mechanical ...

The Effect of Orthodontic Tooth Movement on Intrabony Periodontal Defects After Guided Tissue Regeneration—Part I: Human Histologic Evaluation of 20 Consecutive Cases

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Periodontology, Volume 53, Issue 7, Page 1005-1015, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To histologically evaluate the healing of intrabony periodontal defects treated with guided tissue regeneration (GTR), if it is combined with orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) or used as a sole treatment. Materials and Methods Twenty subjects requiring regenerative periodontal therapy and OTM were treated with the use of extended, coronally

Variation in trabecular bone microarchitecture across rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta) load‐bearing joints

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 249, Issue 1, Page 97-113, July 2026.
Aging of bone density (BV/TV) is regional: Forelimb [left] elements gain bone sporadically (orange) but hind limb elements [right] lose bone globally (blue). Abstract Globally, human population structure is quickly trending older, increasing the prevalence and systemic burden of age‐related skeletal disorders such as osteoporosis.

Networks of respiratory‐muscular coupling in exercise and fatigue in young adults

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 13, July 2026.
Amplitude‐amplitude cross‐frequency coupling (ACFC) is a novel method to quantify respiratory‐muscular dynamic interactions using breathing‐rate time series and EMG frequency‐band activity from distinct muscles. ACFC‐derived network maps show that respiratory‐muscular coupling increases with fatigue accumulation.
