Yellow Mealworm Larvae Derived Eco‐Friendly Substrates for Responsible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
Electronic substrates composed of bioderived eco‐friendly materials constitute a unique opportunity for the development of the next generation of responsible electronics. In this work, the use of Yellow Mealworm Larvae is explored for the realization of rigid and flexible electronic substrates which can be favorable alternatives for existing substrates

Life Cycle Assessment of Magnesium‐Impregnated Biochar Production and its Application for Nutrient Removal and Soil Improvement in Rice Cultivation

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
This study evaluates the environmental trade‐offs of different rice husk management strategies using a life cycle assessment (LCA) approach. It compares biochar production for water treatment and soil improvement with direct incineration for energy generation.

Insect‐Microbe‐Based Laccase: Untapped Natural Resource for Industrial and Biotechnological Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
The insect‐microbe interplay fulfills a key ecological role involving the degradation of ligninocellulose biomass. This is coordinated by the secretion of different kinds of proteins, of which ligninolytic enzymes, such as laccases (Lacs), are of prime importance.

Laser‐Induced HKUST‐1 Derived Porous Electrocatalyst: an Innovative Approach to Boost Sustainable Ammonia Synthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
A zero‐waste, eco‐friendly, binder‐free, scalable, rapid, and one‐pot laser carbonization approach fabricates a coppercuprous oxide/carbon electrocatalyst derived from HKUST‐1 metal‐organic framework for efficient nitrate reduction to ammonia. The catalyst exhibits high ammonia yield, excellent Faradaic efficiency, and robust stability.
