Underground guardians: how collagen and chitin amendments shape soil microbiome structure and function for Meloidogyne enterolobii control

open access: yesMicrobiome
Background The emergence of the guava root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne enterolobii) poses a significant threat to tomato yields globally. This study evaluated the impact of collagen and chitin soil amendments on soil microbial composition and function ...

Trained Memory of Uterine Macrophages Improves Subsequent Pregnancy Outcomes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies that pregnancy imprints a durable, pregnancy‐specific form of trained immune memory in uterine macrophages, marked by the emergence of LILRB3+/PIR‐B+ cells that expand across gestations, acquire a tolerogenic and metabolically rewired phenotype, and actively protect against inflammatory pregnancy loss in mice.

Comprehensive proteomic analysis of exoproteins expressed by ERIC I, II, III and IV Paenibacillus larvae genotypes reveals a wide range of virulence factors

open access: yesVirulence, 2019
American foulbrood is a quarantine disease of the honeybee Apis mellifera L. in many countries and contributes greatly to colony losses. We performed a label-free proteomics study of exoprotein fractions produced in vitro by Paenibacillus larvae ...

Actinidin treatment and sous vide cooking : effects on tenderness and in vitro protein digestibility of beef brisket : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Food Technology at Massey University, Manawatū, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Actinidin from kiwifruit can tenderise meat and help to add value to low-value meat cuts. Compared with other traditional tenderisers (e.g. papain and bromelain) it is a promising way, due to its less intensive tenderisation effects on meat.

Chitosan nanofibers and nanoparticles for immobilization of microbial collagenase

open access: yes, 2016
Účelem této práce je příprava a charakterizace nanočástic z chitosanu, které sloužily jako nosič mikrobiální kolagenázy (EC 3.4.24.3) a jejich srovnání s chitosanovými nanovlákny s kolagenázou. Morfologie a mikrostruktura nanočástic a nanovláken byly sledovány pomocí rastrovacího elektronového mikroskopu. Hydrodynamická velikost připravených nanočástic
