A thermo‐responsive rectal delivery platform integrating probiotic‐derived extracellular vesicles within a hyaluronic acid‐based copolymer enables localized and sustained therapy for ulcerative colitis. The formulation effectively suppresses inflammation, promotes macrophage polarization toward a regenerative phenotype, restores epithelial barrier ...

Soil microbial communities in Southeast Asian peatlands: a review [PDF]
Peatlands in Southeast Asia are considered biodiversity hotspots that contribute significantly to the global carbon cycle. Land-use change on these tropical peatlands alters chemical and physical properties of the peat which directly affect plant health ...

An integrated Human Airway Microbiome Gene Catalog (iHAMGC) is constructed from 12,273 metagenomic airway samples, providing a high‐resolution reference of respiratory microbial genes. The catalog enables systematic exploration of taxonomic and functional variation across airway niches and geographic regions, revealing site‐specific and region ...

Hollow cuprous oxide (H‐Cu2O) nanozymes feature enlarged catalytic surfaces for superior reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging. By efficiently neutralizing mucosal ROS, H‐Cu2O directly suppresses the TXNIP/NLRP3 inflammasome axis and restores intestinal epithelial barrier integrity.

A cytokinin pathway transcription factor, RR2b, was artificially selected during soybean domestication and improvement based on its differential transcriptional activity, which correlates with ATT repeat polymorphisms in its promoter. RR2b balances yield and defense by fine‐tuning its expression level and offers a promising target for decoupling trade ...

A “nutritional trap” strategy centered on disrupting bacterial iron homeostasis is proposed. The synthesized Bi‐TP@FU (TBF) can target Helicobacter pylori, interfere with the bacterial iron uptake and utilization processes to disrupt its iron homeostasis, induce bacterial death, and meanwhile preserve the balance of the intestinal flora.

An ecological and stochastic perspective on persisters resuscitation
Resistance, tolerance, and persistence to antibiotics have mainly been studied at the level of a single microbial isolate. However, in recent years it has become evident that microbial interactions play a role in determining the success of antibiotic ...

Exploring interactions in microbial communities
Most microbial ecosystems cannot be understood without quantifying ecological interactions between their member species. Given the challenges of comprehensively resolving interactions experimentally, a range of prediction methods was developed. Here, we review genome-based prediction methods in particular and discuss their strengths and weaknesses.

Conceptual illustration of a Global Ecosystem Methane Observing System (GEM‐OS) integrating satellites, aircraft, atmospheric networks, and ecosystem measurements to quantify methane emissions from anthropogenic and natural sources. The multi‐scale observing framework improves source attribution, reduces uncertainty in regional methane budgets, and ...
