Laboratory Models of Microbial Biosignatures in Carbonate Rocks [PDF]
Enigmatically shaped laminated carbonate rocks called stromatolites dominated shallow marine environments for the first 80% of Earth’s history, and are potentially the oldest macrofossils.

Multicellular PD Control in Microbial Consortia
We propose a multicellular implementation of a biomolecular PD feedback controller to regulate gene expression in a microbial consortium. The implementation involves distributing the proportional and derivative control actions between two different ...

Photothermal‐Activated Antibacterial Amyloid‐Polyphenol‐Iron Hydrogels for Synergistic Wound Healing
We report a thermally triggered supramolecular hydrogel (LTFe) formed by Fe3+ and tannic acid on lysozyme amyloid fibrils. Fe3+ enables rapid gelation and photothermal transduction with an efficiency of 88.56%. The LTFe hydrogel exhibits excellent biocompatibility, potent antibacterial activity against E. coli and S.

Self‐assembled, scaffold‐free full‐thickness skin equivalents with monoclonal, genetically modified N/TERT‐1 keratinocytes represent a novel in vitro model of human skin and skin diseases. The model is highly robust, reproducible, physiologically relevant, and suitable for high‐throughput applications.

Legionella RavZ Plays a Role in Preventing Ubiquitin Recruitment to Bacteria-Containing Vacuoles
Bacterial pathogens like Salmonella and Legionella establish intracellular niches in host cells known as bacteria-containing vacuoles. In these vacuoles, bacteria can survive and replicate.

The evolutionary ecology of model microbial communities
textThe biological world is complex. Communities contain a multitude of interacting species, while populations contain extensive genetic variation. How much complexity must one consider to understand patterns and processes of interest?

Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.
