Microbial growth kinetics as a method to model and predict the development of starter cultures
A comparative study was conducted on the growth rate of lactic acid bacteria involved in starter cultures for the production of lactic acid products. Based on the data obtained, with respect to the rate of development, it is possible to predict their development as monocultures or as cultures in symbiotic relationship.

The wide spread of gene exchange and loss in the prokaryotic world has prompted the concept of ‘lateral genomics’ to the point of an outright denial of the relevance of phylogenetic trees for evolution. However, the pronounced coherence congruence of the

Development of a Predictive Program for Microbial Growth under Various Temperature Conditions
A predictive program for microbial growth under various temperature conditions was developed with a mathematical model. The model was a new logistic model recently developed by us. The program predicts Escherichia coli growth in broth, Staphylococcus aureus growth and its enterotoxin production in milk, and Vibrio parahaemolyticus growth in broth at ...

Maize Phyllosphere Microbial Community Niche Development Across Stages of Host Leaf Growth [PDF]
Background : The phyllosphere hosts a variety of microorganisms, including bacteria, which can play a positive role in the success of the host plant. Bacterial communities in the phylloplane are influenced by both biotic and abiotic factors, including host plant surface topography and chemistry, which change in ...

Effects of different microbial fertilizers on the growth and development of pomegranate seedlings [PDF]
[Objective] Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) is highly valued for its nutritional and cultural significance. However, its production is often constrained by soil quality issues, such as soil desertification, which can result in reduced yield, leaf ...

Development of a Program to Fit Data to a New Logistic Model for Microbial Growth
Recently we developed a mathematical model for microbial growth in food. The model successfully predicted microbial growth at various patterns of temperature. In this study, we developed a program to fit data to the model with a spread sheet program, Microsoft Excel.

Evaporation-induced hydrodynamics control plasmid transfer during surface-associated microbial growth [PDF]
Droplet evaporation is a general process in unsaturated environments that results in micro-scale hydrodynamic flows which in turn determine the spatial distributions of microbial cells across surfaces.

Developing a pyruvate-driven metabolic scenario for growth-coupled microbial production
Microbial-based chemical synthesis serves as a promising approach for sustainable production of industrially important products. However, limited production performance caused by metabolic burden or genetic variations poses one of the major challenges in achieving an economically viable biomanufacturing process.
