When a master transcription factor (TF) is lost, bacteria can rapidly rewire gene regulatory networks by co‐opting related regulators. Using experimental evolution in Pseudomonas fluorescens, we show that TF promiscuity (low‐level, non‐cognate binding) provides the raw material for rewiring. Successful co‐option follows a predictable hierarchy governed

Single‐cell longitudinal profiling reveals that androgen‐deprivation therapy induces a DPT+ fibroblast‐complement axis that suppresses macrophage inflammation and drives CD8+ T cell exhaustion in prostate cancer. Concurrently, resistant epithelial subpopulations persist and engage TSPAN1‐ and NRXN1‐mediated programs promoting CRPC and neuroendocrine ...

Iron‐Mediated Release of Aged Dissolved Organic Carbon From Waterlogged Peatland Under Warming
This study conducts a five‐year in situ warming experiment in high‐altitude peatlands to examine dissolved organic carbon (DOC) release. The study shows that warming promotes the release of plant‐derived modern DOC in drained peatlands, but amplifies aquatic export of century‐old DOC from waterlogged peatlands via Fe‐mediated DOC mobilization—a ...

Probiotic B.p colonization elevated gut‐derived inosine level in the liver, while elevated inosine activated A2AR and subsequently blocked NPs‐induced polarization of M1 macrophages by repressing the miR155/SOCS1/NF‐κB pathway. This reduced the release of inflammatory cytokines and thereby, mitigated NPs‐induced hepatic injury.

Is the thermodynamic efficiency of soil microbial communities related to ecosystem maturity and stress? [PDF]
According to the second law of thermodynamics, no process can be 100% efficient and all processes must increase the total entropy of the system they occupy.

Lactiplantibacillus plantarum GUANKE remodels the indigenous gut microbiota and is associated with microbiota‐dependent restoration of circulating IAA. IAA treatment attenuates JAK3‐STAT3 and Jag1‐Notch4‐Hey1 signaling and reduces CX3CR1+Ly6C− monocytic precursor generation and pulmonary CD11b+ DC accumulation, together with reduced Th2 inflammation ...

Global emergent responses of stream microbial metabolism to glacier shrinkage [PDF]
Most cryospheric ecosystems are energy limited. How their energetics will respond to climate change remains largely unknown. This is particularly true for glacier-fed streams, which interface with the cryosphere and initiate some of Earth's largest river

Highly Flexible and Conformable ZnO/FeGa Magnetoelectric Heterostructures for Skin wound Healing
The magnetic field‐induced electric field generated by a highly flexile ZnO(piezoelectric)/FeGa(magnetostrictive) magnetoelectric heterostructure embedded in the low Young's modulus elastomer PDMS has been used to stimulate the wound healing processes.

Assessing the Presence of Phosphoinositides on Autophagosomal Membrane in Yeast by Live Cell Imaging
The formation of autophagosomes mediating the sequestration of cytoplasmic materials is the central step of autophagy. Several phosphoinositides, which are signaling molecules on the membrane, are involved in autophagy.
